You can do whatever you like with it once you learn the basics! I'm still surprised, for instance, that a scarf I knitted my brother over 15 years ago receives endless compliments. It was just a simple ribbed scarf knit in bulky yarn! But people ask him all the time where he purchased it. (I am still pleased when he tells me ) I am going to try my hand at sewing this year, I think. I had decided it was impossible for several logistical reasons. But! A friend has offered her spare to me when I want to sew. And I really, really want to try my hand at it. I love knitting so dearly. But I want to learn to sew, maybe even tailor some (!!!!), so I can fit my own pants, jeans, tops, dresses--the works. I don't mind buying RTW.
