Thanks for all your comments! Makes me feel better that I'm not the only one who doesn't want to shop sometimes. I am setting out today though and I'm planning to set myself a timetable (thanks Manidipa!), so that I stop before I'm completely exhausted and disgruntled!

I generally enjoy shopping (sometimes too much!) but I do go through periods where I'm not interested in it at all. Strangely enough, I'm like you and like it less in winter because of the hassle of taking everything off and on and then getting overly hot...it's just annoying.

It sounds like you have a decent plan and I wish you luck in finding what you're looking for!

I can definitely relate. I don't really like to shop at all, ever. Though I am learning to like it a bit more.

I'm on SYC at the moment, but I can relate! I hat shopping in winter too, it's so exhausting to take all these layers off only to put them on again. And of course the item I tried would never work out anyway. I wish you good luck with your shopping!

Oh yes! I especially hate shopping in winter and summer. I feel like it is either so hot or cold in the stores, I get freezing or sweaty, and it is not a fun experience. I have found that shopping slightly more frequently but for less time has helped. I just pop in, check things out, and pop back out before frustration sets in. So far it is helping, but it isn't a long term solution, because it does mean I am shopping an awful lot. And I don't really care for shopping.

I do hope you have good luck in the shops when you get round to it, and it brings the inspiration and fun back to fashion for you!

I can sort of relate, Kirti. I've neglected my winter wardrobe too long (it was easy to do in warmer climes than Delhi). But it was mostly because I couldn't find the shapes/colours/sizes/materials/price points I most wanted or was comfortable with for several years in a row.

My range of layering knits is currently rather threadbare. A strange new shape is narrowing options further. So right now, I'm pretty darn cold in my makeshift layers.

Thing is, I don't want to shop --- I've seen a few things I'd have been delighted to have met *last* year, but now I'm not sure how they'll work *next* year because I'm sure to have a different body size and shape by then! And I'm worried I will be left without options AGAIN by this time next year...

And I do hear you on the tiresome peeling off and piling on required to try things on in peak winter season! But I guess that's the price to pay for the largest selection as well as the best prices. Too early in the season, and you might not have enough options in the shops yet, nor find many bargains. Leave it to later and you've shivered through the worst of winter and are buying from a very limited range of leftovers.

So go out there, and give yourself a manageable timetable. A limited number of shops or hours perhaps, so you don't get too tired of the dressing and undressing? I know you're organized enough that you'll already have to hand a list of colours and styles you need, so at least that's one time-waster you don't need to worry about.

is to rekindle my love for shopping! It may sound bizarre, but I've had a rough winter and I've been unable to find the items I need most in stores, especially knitwear. I think this also has a little to do with the fact that I have put on a little weight, not enough to change my size, but enough to make a few things in size 38 a little snug, while the size up is still loose. This has made me dread shopping. I also hate taking off all those winter layers to try stuff on. Ugh. This would be okay if I had all that clothes I need for this season, but I don't and I really need to get out a find a few things that will keep me warm!!!

The annual winter sale in France starts on Wednesday (9/01) and I've made a list of all the shops I like and should visit, plus a list of the stuff that I need. I hope I can find what I'm looking for and that I have fun doing it.

Am I the odd one out for feeling this way? Do you ladies ever have periods where you just don't want to shop?
