&#060;p&#062;I have only lost 3lbs but the tape measure says an inch of my hips, 1/2 inch off waist and thighs too in just 2 weeks.. keeping up what I am doing and steering clear of the scale which drives me nuts when i add in exercise which I am doing twice a day, cardio in the morning and strength training in the evenings.. total of an hour and 10 minutes so not overkill. &#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;

&#060;p&#062;It's interesting to me that tumeric works for you. I met someone who raved about it and said that it solved all her problems. I started taking it, but about the same time started getting aching finger joints and some swelling, so I stopped it. My doctor just confirmed that it is osteoarthritis. I forgot to ask her about tumeric.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Anyway, since I have a supply of it I started taking it again and will give it a longer trial. I don't want to have to take pain killers every day. The reviews I've Googled say it does work for some people.

I used to be even more of a pear than I am now and never had an ounce of fat in my rib cage/waist area....but then it all changed - my thighs have shrunk a little and I acquired  that 401k thing but it actually is a little easier to fit clothes now.

&#060;p&#062;ETA my shape also changed with menopause -- I was an hourglass/pear from 15-50 at &#060;b&#062;any&#060;/b&#062; weight, then became an hourglass/rectangle at my lower weight but verging on apple at times when bloated or a few pounds up. &#038;nbsp;:) &#038;nbsp; Doesn't sound like a big change, but it truly is.&#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;In some ways it is easier. Certain items (pants) have become much much easier to fit. Even shirts (because they can go over my hips). But it's a weird feeling to be a different shape than before. It takes us a while to learn to dress for it or recognize it. And I do not like this ...er....&#034;reTIREment&#034; savings fund at my waist.&#038;nbsp;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I hear you, Tracey! &#038;nbsp;Menopause is a shift, for sure. &#038;nbsp;I've retired from estrogen production, and was amazed that my body had quite a 401K full of the hormone stashed round my waist. &#038;nbsp;I think of it as my emergency fund. &#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I've been making adjustments and, slowly, after almost a year, have found some new routines and habits that are making a difference. &#038;nbsp;Sounds like you've found a marvelous motivation for making some positive changes. &#038;nbsp;A lot of people perform better with a goal --- and a cruise with a dear friend will be a marvelous payoff at the end!&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;Please don't feel the need to be scarce on the forum because of weight gain. &#038;nbsp;It's good for us all to remember that weight fluctuations are common for the many women. &#038;nbsp;Personally, I think it helps me take care of myself through exercise and nutrition when I already feel good about the way I look. &#038;nbsp;Well fitting clothes and great outfits are a part of that.&#060;/p&#062;

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I haven't been around much lately because I am just very frustrated with the menopausal weight gain that unlike any other weight gain has completely changed my body shape which has always been hourglass no matter how much I weighed. &#038;nbsp;&#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I just haven't felt like photographing myself as much or had the motivation to do the work necessary to really change this.. Until a few days ago that is....&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I booked my first ever cruise! &#038;nbsp;A girlfriend and I are heading to Bermuda in 10 weeks. &#038;nbsp;I am so motivated, eating right and using my Pilates machine every day for the past 5 days since I paid for the cruise....This cruise came about because my friend just needs a break from her family situation and I of course volunteered to join her. &#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;The best part of this is that it's the biggest thing either of us has ever done for ourselves and our husbands are seeing our Joy and loving it and being extremely supportive... They even encouraged us to go for the Unlimited cocktails package to ensure we have a wonderful time. &#038;nbsp;&#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;I have never felt so motivated , every day I just feel like doing more with my workouts and my lifesaver has been Tumeric which really erases all muscle pain... I was without it when I first began and was telling my husband how much I ached and felt my 50 yrs of age , something beyond any ache I had from workouts in the past. &#038;nbsp;He ran to the store and got me some pills and a few hours later it hit me that the pain was gone.... I did 2 workouts today and have increased my reps from 20 to 40 with the goal of increasing to 100 by the time this ten weeks is up.&#060;/p&#062;
&#060;p&#062;If you read this much , thanks for hanging in as this has been a very tough journey to gain weight after doing such a great job of losing the weight that piled on during the 4yrs I was my mother's care giver. &#038;nbsp;I lost it because I knew she would hate it if that was her legacy. &#038;nbsp;&#038;nbsp;&#060;/p&#062;
