Recently I've been trying to find time to snap a few photos of my outfits at day's end, and it's incredibly revealing. About 2 weeks ago I photographed an outfit that I thought looked fine, only to realize how frumpy and ill-fitting the pieces looked together, especially when paired with flats. I always put off posting outfits because I was too shy/nervous/many other excuses. I was worried about putting myself out there even though I KNEW that no safer forum full of intelligent, thoughtful, encouraging and stylish ladies exists. </p> <p>To anyone who is reading but is hesitant to post outfits, I want to encourage you to do so, no matter what you look like! I learned more about myself and what looks good this week than I have in a long time. Somehow, taking pictures helped me see the difference between something really flattering and something that didn't deserve to be on my body. I learned even more from the not great outfit than I did from the good ones. Instead of it making me feel badly that it wasn't flattering, it made me feel good because it helped me see what is. I have read and read and looked at a gazillion pics of other people, but none of that really matters until you look at clothes on yourself. For some reason, looking in the mirror doesn't result in the same objectivity as photos. </p> <p>I've finally realized that I CAN have a closet full of clothes that really flatter instead of just "fit" and I wanted to thank everyone here who made me feel so great this week and who helped me see some things that weren't working! </p>
