It's definitely an acquired taste, to go for the less conventionally flattering high-vamp footwear with skirts. I feel my higher vamped peep-toe booties are not as flattering on my leg with skirts as some of my lower vamped sandals are, but I feel more stylish in them sometimes. I chose them to fill a wardrobe hole of <b><i>light neutral heeled sandals to wear with skirts and dresses</i></b>. I chose gold because it bookends my hair and goes well with my usual&nbsp;black, white, denim, blue and grey.&nbsp;They are quite&nbsp;comfortable although I've needed to use body glide foot every time I've worn them to prevent blisters where they rub on my toe knuckles.&nbsp;They do seem to be stretching a bit which is good. I also bought some gold wedge&nbsp;sandals around the same time, which I've worn a smaller number of times. </p> <p>The thing is, I do not quite love them, and I'm not sure why. With skirts/dresses they look a little heavy. My ankles are average, not exactly slim but not really wide either. My feet are fairly small with very short toes,&nbsp;and the toes are almost invisible in these sandals. Maybe sandals with less "strappage" across the foot would look a little prettier and more streamlined when worn with skirts/dresses. (The wedge sandals seem a little more streamlined)</p> <p>Maybe it's a contrast thing? </p> <p>Maybe this style is a little edgier than I'm used to? </p> <p>Angie, I know you recently got back into wearing sandals. I'm wondering if my issue could be related&nbsp;to why you had been off the sandal bandwagon for a while?
