I was a jewelry minimalist, so when I acquired several gold chains in that era I though I had become a maximalist. Looking back, I wasn't. I had several fine gold chains--all the style them. I think I still have a couple, one with a broken clasp. I had 3 longer gold chains that I mixed and wore a lot.&nbsp;</p> <p>Some of these weren't so dainty, but compared to what came along in the 80s, they were.&nbsp;</p> <p>One was a 30" cable that I later had made into a bracelet. A pearl and gold necklace later became a lariat style. and my tiger eye and gold chain was shortened. I wore them a lot in the original forms. Unfortunately, all were carried off by burglars in 2012. I had a friend sell a few other chunkier no-longer worn pieces when gold went through the roof a few years ago. She got a commission and the proceeds went into an educational fund.&nbsp;</p> <p>Ever since the chains came back I've been eyeing larger gold link chains like the one in Angie's post. Since we're not traveling for Christmas, maybe I'll get one. I don't know about multiples though. Ther is this adage that if you wore it once long ago, you should not wear it again when it's back in style.</p> <p>On the other hand, who cares about old adages these days?&nbsp; </p> <p>The beach photos were Laguna Beach. Favorite vacation spot for years.&nbsp;</p>
