Oh...I SO understand muffin top. I would suggest a vest ! Preferably a slinky, waterfall one. I LOVE those. I also agree that if you wear a shirt that is untucked and maybe more of an A line, it won't be a problem. Enjoy your fab pants.

How about sizing up in the jeans? Sometimes it is enough to get rid of the muffin top.

Roomy knitwear is a great remedy, as is layering a jacket over a top.

as others have said, spanx cami or yummy tummy cami...spanx also has a lower price brand at target .

i have both, and they really do work

I found that spanx cures that problem. I found a camisole that is both comfortable and does the job. Every single time I wear it, people ask me if I lost weight!!!!!

Hmm, this is always a tricky question for me. I'd definitely try the shapewear route that the other ladies have suggested. Maybe take the jeans and top with you when you shop to see if the cami smooths enough to make you feel good about how you look. I'd also try a looser top to check if that look works for you.

But, if those jeans make you feel self-conscious when you wear them, or you find the shapewear uncomfortable (which I do), I'd consider returning. Our party clothes ought to make us feel like a million dollars; if those jeans don't do that, they might just end up as a pretty orphan.

I also recommend a "shapewear tank". I have one for just such emergencies.

I haven't tried Spanx, but when my pants cause muffin tops, I wear them with loose, longer tops. I find tunics to be a good length on me anyway. I would try them with any tops you have that qualify, and if none of them work, return the pants.

Unless, of course, the Spanx work for you.

i would suggest pairing it with slightly looser top that camuflages any bulges and don't tuck it in, otherwise "muffin top" will be highlighted

Are you planning to tuck in? I usually don't tuck with skinnies, unless I do a half-tuck in front which hides the MT effect. I've resigned myself to it. Spanx also works but I find them slippery which makes my pants slide down, unless I belt really tightly, and then - you guessed it - I still get MT.

If you pair them with a non-fitted top/blouse as you are planning, only you will be aware of any muffin-tendancies.
I say keep and enjoy the lovely bright colour!

Kristin, I think Glory is referring to a pair of pants, not a skirt?

Glory, you could try getting a spanx cami. Maybe take the jeans with you and try the cami on with them to see if it takes care of it; either a cami or the spanx the come up and attached to the bra?

I have this same problem with lower-rise pants. )-:

I purchased the most fantastic hotpink and black brocade skinny jeans for holiday wear. Completely out of the norm for me but they are delicious. I planned to wear them with patent pumps and a silk black blouse for 2 casual parties. However, they sit low on the waist and there is muffin top. I thought I could wear a cami under but it still has the lumps and now I don't think they would be comfy as they make me feel self conscious. Does anyone have any solutions or should I just return.
