Wearing sandals for the first time signals spring to me - and that sometimes happens even before April here in central Texas. I also pull my lighter weight and sleeveless tops to the front of the closet like Janet. I do wear long sleeves (gauze and super light cotton/blends) in spring summer due to the intense sun and often intense AC indoors.

I might be a little premature -- we'll see if my toes get cold --but it will be 65 and sunny here today so I am wearing open toes for the first time of the year. Tall boots are put away in early April for me. Heavy sweaters also. And I pulled my lighter weight, short sleeves and sleeveless tops up to the front of my closet. I'll still be wearing long sleeves for a couple more weeks at least, but I am tired of looking at dark colors and thick knits.

I stopped wearing tights a couple weeks ago and packed away my puffer vests, scarves, winter hats, and wool coats. I keep my long puffer out, though, for late night baseball games (still pretty cold when the sun goes down). I'm wearing light trench coats to work now. I'm not quite ready to wear shorter skirts and dresses with bare legs (and I have terrible luck with light weight hosiery - one wearing and I ruin them), but I've been wearing midi length skirts with bare legs and closed toe shoes. Summer is when I can go without a coat or jacket for the morning commute (probably late May) and start wearing sandals. I'm usually a bit late to the sandal game, as I have really messed up runner's feet.

It looks like spring in my garden, with trees blooming and everything growing. Yesterday a friend and I sat on the deck while our dogs played. This morning, though, we had a dusting of snow!

It's spring when I get to put away the puffers and bring out the leathers. This year I began to do that in Feb, at least a little.

I'm with ElCee and Summer. It's boots, or at least tall ones. I do have mine put away but still see them being worn. I am still wearing booties, but that may be ending this week. Another marker is moving from puffer coat to trench or leather jacket as outerwear.
I know it is summer when anything long sleeved and all outerwear gets stored away, and when sleeveless tops can be worn without a topper.

Like Summer just said -- transition to Spring begins (here in Connecticut, at least) when the boots are put away. That hasn't happened for me just yet. Full Spring begins when the socks are put away.

I know its warming up when I finally get to shed my boots - I haven't done it yet, though. I did go out without a coat yesterday, though, so that's progress!

Being in the UK transition seasons are long and summer is not always that hot. So today was the first day I've worn one of my short sleeve dresses to work. Even so, I realised that what really marks the transition to 'Spring/summer' for me is moving from opaque (dark) tights to nude micro fishnets. And I'm not ready for that yet - maybe May.

Do you have any seasonal markers like this?
