Sal, I would love a pair in a good washed black denim! I have very dark black and they read a little more dressy. Somehow it seems black jeans are not so easy to find now.

I like that dark wash too (but not too dark)......it is funny how the slightest difference is wrong.

My flares are annoying me at the moment - they work well with a mid heel boot or sandal, but since I am wearing lower heels now they are frustrating. .

My Garcia jeans fill that spot of a darker wash, straight leg simple pair of jeans. I don't actually think the find does them justice (and since I custom find I may even have the wrong ones). I think next winter I will get another pair of black/washed black denim...

The finds below are a pretty good representation of what I currently own, jeans-wise. Not many skinnies left, I’m feeling quite over the skinniest styles, but a couple come in handy for tucking into tall boots for winter.

Thanks, Lisa! Some good ones there. I will investigate further.

I’m not in a rush, just collecting info at the moment, thinking ahead, since I’m expecting to wear my jeans a lot in the coming months. I am not in bad shape for jeans right now — I managed to get a weird sticky stain out of my old Lucky straight legs (which have a slightly boyfriend-ish fit and a DIY released hem, so they are decidedly relaxed in appearance), and the two pairs of DL1961 jeans I got in early 2019 (which have a similar easy fit but a little narrower in the leg) are still going strong. I like the wash on the Mott & Bow’s that I linked to — dark but not that flat overly-uniform dark wash. I love the look of the faded wash on those Citizen jeans, but I have a very hard time finding the right light wash with that appealing slightly loose fit, like those look on the model. Too many jeans fit my legs like sausage casings.

A lot of jeans now have rises of 10”+ which makes them a more difficult fit for me — if I size up for some ease, they are often baggy in the crotch in a bad way. And of course it’s hard to find any inseams of 32” or more these days — so much is cropped!

I love flares and bootcuts and I’ll still wear them this winter, but I am thinking ahead to styles that work well with a little roll or cuff to wear around the house without the hems dragging on the floor.

I've heard of them -- first on fashion blogs when the brand appeared several years ago, though I haven't seen them anywhere other than social media ads since.

I like the look of these.

I like the Citizens Skyla for this purpose (the Elsas make me very happy but are cropped) but also look at finds I considered.

I have seen them advertised and wondered about ordering a pair. They do get great reviews.

Glad to know I’m not the only one, Lisa! They just look really chic and wearable to my eye. Nothing tricky. Rise might be low for many people’s current preference but for my short rise they seem good (I think front rise is around 9”?).

Does anyone have any experience with this brand? I see the ads on social media, and this style is right up my alley even though it’s not exciting in terms of denim trendiness. Full length, mid-rise, simple wash slim boyfriend/straight leg. It’s harder to find than one would think.

If you have any firsthand knowledge I’d be curious to hear it. They look great on the model, but my body shape bears zero resemblance to that so it’s hard to assess from the pics. Reviews make it seem like they might work for me (they maybe are cut generous in the hips?), but it’s always good to hear from fellow fabbers. TIA!
