I love my Fitbit too, we logged 7 miles a day recently on our Dallas trip,
The only thing I am not happy about is their refusal to get onboard with Apples IOs8 Health App.

I need some motivation to get moving. I spent over 5 weeks in Mexico and logged between 22K and 33K steps per day. Most of it was walking on the beach or in the water which I love. I have only worn my fitbit once since I got home and need to get at it again.

Tony has left his fitbit in his pants pocket twice and washed them and it has survived. Mine made it through two dunks in the ocean last year but died on the third swim. :)

I hope you find it Tracy. The fitbit shaped like a fob is about 60% of the cost of the fitbit one. I replaced mine as soon as I lost it last year and don't regret the money.

Wow, you and Janet are giving me something to reach for... Now if only yesterday I had not lost the darn thing... Yep I was wearing it, remembered checking it and thinking I needed to get moving more... I looked into putting together a project for my tank tops, then went to check and it was gone. I've retraced my steps for hours last night , crawling on the floor with a flashlight and still nothing.. How in the world did it fall off my bra strap and just disappear.. Just as I was finding it's value.. so frustrated and feeling lost without it as I was getting addicted to checking it... I actually thought perhaps I was nuts and my memory failed and perhaps I didn't look at it when I thought I did and maybe the last time was actually in the bathroom of the bowling alley.. I did a check online and it synced with my computer when I came home and that was the last time it synced...so it's here somewhere...

Congrats, Tracey! It sounds as if the Fitbit was just what you needed to give yourself a little encouragement.

I love my Fitbit, too, and agree that it gives the extra nudge you need some days. I sit so much of the day and even though I exercise at the gym and do a fair bit of commuting by foot in town, on days that I don't take a long walk or a run, I sometimes find it difficult to reach that 10,000 number.

Janet, I am so impressed that you logged 30,000 steps in a day! WOW. Have you plugged your device into your computer since your return (to recharge the battery)? I had some syncing issues once after a trip, and doing that seemed to solve the problem.

I have just reached my own new "best" -- 25,000 the other day here in Israel. I tend to walk a LOT on holidays, and that is why I take so many pairs of shoes. For me, changing is the best thing for my feet, and with options, I find that I manage long walking days like this without any undue stress.

I love seeing how many flights of stairs I have climbed, too. My best in a day was 100 floors....but the "floors" were really mountains (I was hiking in Banff).

:)

I like my Fitbit, and it does indeed provide a nudge on the days when I've been sitting at my computer just a bit too long!

So far my biggest day ever was 30,000+ steps while hiking in Chile (about 13-14 miles that day). Unfortunately, my Fitbit seems to have stopped syncing with the iPhone app and the website ever since I left for Cuba, even though I'm back in the states now. I can see my count during the day, but it's not tracking my progress over the last week -- I feel like I'm going through withdrawal! I was walking between 7-10 miles a day in Cuba, so I'm bummed I can't see the weekly count.

I wish they made a waterproof version that would track movement like swimming and even biking, since I do a lot of those activites as well.

Congrats on your new motivation!

I am loving my Fit bit One for motivation to move more each day... Like so many of us either in an office all day or like myself at home with my homeschooler, most of us are more sedentary than is healthy...
In my push for weight loss... I am on the move..My morning walks take up around 6500 steps and I am finding myself motivated to jog in my kitchen while dinner is cooking or do a few squats or my resistance bands, etch watching the numbers climb determined to get to that magic 10,000... yesterday I made it to 11,000.. Today will be my biggest challenge as no morning walk- homeschool bowling day... This one will be tough, but that little Firt bit will be there sitting on my bra strap nagging me to do it... Just the motivation I need...
Thanks for letting me get that out, hope it helps even one person...
