Ahh, as MOTB last year, this is so hard!

Funny, my only advice is to look look look. You may "know it when you see it" but if you don't, you may want to secure something from a place with a good return policy (keep tags on) as your fallback option and kee looking, as more and more springy dresses seemed to come out later than I thought. I thought retail would be way ahead of the season so I was looking in Nov and Jan but even after the April wedding, I was seeing "see our new arrivals of spring dresses".

Also, I sympathize with finding jacket or wrap. At times I felt I had a bead on the perfect dress but couldn't guarantee I'd find a stylish jacket, or I'd find a perfect jacket but it needed a dress that did not yet exist. Gah.

I like the colours you are thinking of wearing. I think they will harmonise well with the BM's and MOTB. I think a strong simple lined dress would be lovely. It sounds like you don't wish to be overwhelmed by too much fabric or detail. I actually like the idea of a portrait collar as it sounds very flattering. Looking forward to the pics from your trip.

Need help finding a mother of the groom dress. I'm 5'3", 115 lbs. and straight figure. It's a May evening wedding and bride's mom is wearing a long dress in some yet-to-be decided shade of purple. Bridesmaids' dresses are a pale gray chiffon.

I'm thinking maybe navy or french blue satin would be safe. Would like something with an interesting neckline (v-neck, portrait collar, off the shoulder idea) or just a simple column dress with spaghetti straps and a simple collarless, 3/4 sleeve lace jacket over it. Thought this would be easy to find but am finding it's not. Lots of what I've tried just overwhelms my midget body.

Will try to post some pics from a recent shopping trip.
