I am now mother and mother-in-law!</p> <p>For family privacy, I am not posting any photos, and we don’t have the professional photos back yet, but everything went great. The weather was absolutely perfect, the bride gorgeous (not that I am biased!), the groom handsome, and a great party time was had by all. &nbsp;My DD and her new husband seem so happy and compatible; I feel very blessed.</p> <p><span>My dress worked out perfectly. I took both the silk wrap and another one I&nbsp; had not shown, a&nbsp; gray whisper cashmere wrap from Nordie’s &nbsp;also, and I used it, as it got rather cool. I also “cut the tags” on those Lucky bronze pointy-toe flats and changed into them later into the night for more dancing. More on those flats later.</span></p> <p>At the Friday family dinner, &nbsp;I wore &nbsp;&nbsp;the EF gray pants with the print ruffle shirt, but with my fuchsia blazer instead of the seersucker. I thought it looked fine and gave me some more color. </p> <p>I took the black floral jacket/track pants outfit with me, but didn’t wear it as 2 of the bridesmaids had deep coral dresses for the dinner that were similar to my orangey-pink top, so I&nbsp;went with the &nbsp;different color direction, as above. But I wore that outfit this past weekend on date night—woohoo.</p> <p>I did not take photos of outfits while there, but I tried to dress somewhat smart-casual during the couple of days we were busy running errands and doing last-minute wedding things. I relied mostly on a couple of casual jackets to&nbsp; add some structure and polish to jeans or some tapered crops. My DD gave me the ultimate compliment—she wanted to steal my gray knit blazer , told me that I looked so “hip” and &nbsp;put together and was &nbsp;dressing “cooler” than she—she said we needed to go shopping together for her soon! &nbsp;This of course was an overstatement,, but still I really liked the progress I made compared to my khaki/running shoe/plaid shirt look.</p> <p>This has been a great experience in putting together outfits, and I can’t thank all the YLF’ers enough.</p> <p>Interestingly, I am also relieved that this “mission” is over, since it was so occasion-specific and I fretted about being just right, and in time, so now I’m looking forward to continuing a more relaxed fashion and style journey, but still focused on some goals. </p>
