Sneakers are definitely a challenge, I found a resole-able manufacturer and every model for men and women was sold out.

Good that they are out there though!

The Gap had been working on it for years , as has adidas and Nike. I can’t find an article right now but I think adidas is actually one of the leading research and development company’s in sustainable footwear

Almost every brand we peruse here on YLF has brought out a sustainably and ethically made set of items in their collections. Even the fast fashion brands are trying. Not the entire brand, but components of it for sure. If you search for it, you will find it on their websites. Zara, Esprit, C&A, Hobbs, Forever 21, Whistles, H&M, Gap, Banana Republic ....... are to name but a few.

Footwear and accessories are the hardest items to make sustainably, I guess. Far fewer options around.

Although I am still not buying denim, AG Jeans has a "Sustainabily" category in their heading menu in which they describe their goals, water recycling being foremost.

Rachylou, click the “AA” & be amazed! There are a bunch of things you can do there besides translating.

The new companies are cool, but I also think it’s great to see big, established legacy companies lumbering in the right direction.

I didn’t know that’s what the AA was! Also, I have never thought to ask a ‘legacy’ company what they’re doing... I’ve just sought out sustainable companies... I think that’s smart.

The improvements at Steve Madden shoes that Angie blogged about seem to be part of a wave. It can be hard to tell sometimes what’s real and what’s just a show, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised a couple times recently.

I emailed the company that makes the base layers I raved about earlier this year to ask for details of their new line #intimissimicares They pointed me to this page https://www.intimissimi.com/de.....imicares/# It describes supply chain procedures, initiatives for women’s rights and clean water, recycling and reduced packaging at their company. I can’t find an English version, but iPhones now translate webpages if you click the “AA” in the top left corner by the place where you type the url; I assume other phones can do similar.

Adidas is bringing out 3 new Stan Smith models that are designed to be more sustainable.

What similar changes have you seen at familiar companies?
