Diana, it sounds like we have different goals for our cream silk blouse (I didn't want slouchy or translucent), so my experience won't be a perfect match ... but I did spend a fair bit of time with the tipped Laura blouse you're considering. I ended up passing on it (link to the thread).

The Laura and the one you've currently got are made of the same silk, if you like the material. Ultimately, I didn't choose it because I thought that the detailing looked a bit cheap. The blouse I ended up keeping cost me $20 to alter (I shortened the sleeves, much like you're considering), so you should factor that in too.

If you can't get it in a petite, why not have the sleeves shortened? The blouse is lovely on you, and for the cost of an alteration it would be perfect.

BR has this one too, but it doesn't even come in petite, so it would likely have the same problems.

I'm not sure I could even sew a blouse like that for less than $50...perhaps this would be one of those things you'd save up for? The color does look really good on you.

ETA: yes, try the petite

Do you think a petite size might fix some of the issues? Usually I have issues with petite sleeves being too short, but I highly doubt that will be the case here. It looks like the teal and red (only colors available online) do come in petites. I really want cream though, maybe it will appear later.

Yeah, I agree, Angie. Figured it was worth a try though. I find the weird bits sticking out at the bottom of the cuff rather odd looking, hence the close up photo.

Now, any suggestions for a similar blouse? I should add that the reason i really wanted this to work was that it is real silk with no breast pockets (amazing how hard that is to find) at a really, really good price. The full price is $80 and I paid under $50 with the 40% discount. Anyway, if someone tall with long arms is looking for a silk blouse, I recommend it!

Anna suggested some others in my other thread, but they are a little pricey for me. But I wonder if expecting to find something else similar at this price is just a pipe dream.

Regardless, PPP!

I don't suppose you can roll and scrunch up this type of sleeve? The French cuffing seems to help. Maybe if you keep this you could press the cuffs up so that it looks like they're supposed to be that way. I love the black cami underneath. It looks great!

I'm not entirely sold on the cuffed version either, Diana. The fabric is too slippery for that type of manipulation if you know what I mean.

So Angie thought the body fit was good but the sleeves were too long. Looking back at the photos, I think I know what she meant - it's not where the cuff ends but all the excess fabric pooling OVER the cuff. Anyway, I thought I'd try french cuffing the sleeves. Is this any better? Also, a closeup of the cuff so hopefully the french cuff doesn't look too weird. Last photo is the old one for reference with uncuffed sleeves.

Also, I am wearing a better-fitting (but black) cami this time. Does it help?
