I really like the colour of the cardigan, but feel its voluminous in the wrong way, so I'm glad it's up for auction.

I like the dress Tricia, but something is not quite right about the outfit. I think the opaques are too heavy. Also, I really like your vintage outfits with the beret - they become modern and current that way. Looking hip in vintage stuff means adding very current elements into the ensemble mix. For me, that would be my hair and specs. For Julie, it would be her body art. For you, it's your hat! Does that make sense?

Too bad the cardigan didn't work out for you, it's a beautiful color. I love the dress and second MaryK about having the dry cleaners work their magic on the collar. I think it looks fine open the way you styled it, and I also like it with the black cardigan.

wow you really have a definite style. I love that dress..and it is really you! The sweater looks quite big. I imagine you could wear it with jeans and maybe roll up the sleeves. Actually the colour would look good with denim.

That dress is FAB on you! Just perfect - love it in both pics. I'm not a fan of the sweater - would like to see it styled with something less delicate looking. The sleeves look pretty big! Are they?

Love the dress! I'd have the dry cleaners use their industrial pressing equipment to press the neckline open. I think I'd like the cardi better without the belt.

Love the dress and outfit 2! So cute! The cardi's sleeves look pretty big and bunchy so I am not sure about it with that dress. Seems more casual to me. Maybe you could try scrunching the sleeves up?

Love the dress/black cardigan, wish I had ideas as far as keeping the collar permanently open. Starting with pressing sounds like a good idea.

With Sveta on the "belt under dress" for #3. You may need a belt that contrasts more with the dress, though.

Nice color and print on the dress.
I would not belt that cardigan: it is too thick and bulges out. You can belt the dress under the cardigan. Nice color!

I haven't been around much lately - my family was passing a stomach virus back and forth last week, then my parents were here to visit, and today we were all stuck at home because of an ice storm. But I've gotten in a few of the vintage goodies I ordered and I'd love to know what you think!

1-2: 1950s shirtwaist dress. I love the colors here. This dress has a Peter Pan collar, which I generally know I can't wear, but I thought I'd experiment and try this dress with the first few buttons open. I like it, but I can't get the collar to stay spread open - once I have it cleaned, could I press it into shape, do you think?

It has belt loops but the belt is long gone, so I subbed in a black belt of my own and tried it with black tights and my Ansel oxfords. In the second pic, I added the black cardi.

3. I think I already know the answer here - I've been looking for the perfect camel "grandpa-style" cardigan, partly because I've been dying to put together a variation on this exact outfit, but I don't know. This one is 100% lambswool and so cozy, but I think it's too thick for this delicate dress. Would it work with other outfits - more substantial dresses/skirts, or with jeans?

I have a few other things I really love at the cleaners/tailors - can't wait to show you those!
