great that you are happy with your closet. but is this a sign of anhedonia possibly from overwork, especially your thread on not feeling like drinking?

Does this feel liberating, confusing or something else?

I may be totally off base Anna, but I view your style as star pieces around which you build your wardrobe, perhaps you have your stars for this season?

Anna, I think it is great that you are experiencing this! I feel this way a lot actually, very often toss catalogs into recycling without opening, and delete sales emails without opening....although I also have a very hard time resisting the desire to purchase when I feel the pull of a particular item, or the need to shop when it hits me. It's sort of all or nothing for me.
But I think it's terrific that you are feeling so zen about the sales when there can be such pressure to spend at this time of year. It does seem to suggest you are at peace with what you have right now. And as Alaskagirl says, there is something so harmonious about what is happening; your finances are building in the meantime, and when the mood hits you will be prepared. How perfect is that?

Agreeing that sometimes it is that our closets are at a happy state of satisfaction. Sometimes, too, it is because the current trends don't really appeal to me. They don't get me excited, so I'm not excited about shopping. That feeling may even last a couple of seasons. Then *BAM* I want everything in the next.

Anna, enjoy the break- your finances will be replenished when the mood hits you again. I have been shopping a lot but very specifically with certain goals and there is no joy in it. Other than that I don't feel much pull to browse at the moment. It's okay!

Happy with closet, or just exhausted with fashion? Do you feel pleased that you're not shopping, or drained/depressed that you don't have your normal outlet? I was just wondering, since that "I'm done with shopping" feeling can be positive or negative for me.

So in addition to completely bypassing the current Nordies sale and new offererings, I am ignoring another sale.
I got an special email from net-a-porter saying since I was such a good customer that they would give me 25% off fall/winter offerings. For the record I only order from there two or three times a year. I perused several categories and designers and then finally decided that I didn't want anything. The email expires today and today is payday, but I'm like "eh".
This is just so strange for me. I have a bit of hard time processing the feeling.
Last night I got the Nordstrom holiday experience catalog. I think it's their attempt to counter the Neiman Marcus Christmas catalog. It's full of all sorts of ridiculously pensive experiences like meeting designers and shopping their boutique in NYC, etc. But the only one that appealed to me even in a pure fantasy aspect was a ski trip to Big Sky in Montana.
