I just got off the phone with a customer service rep at Nordstrom and described the problem that YLF forum posters have been experiencing. She said that the company needs to be made aware of manufacturing issues like this and will pass it on. She also took the time to look into if there had been internal notes about problems with these pants and didn't see anything previously noted anywhere. She said that Nordstrom will accept returns and provide refunds&nbsp;at any time&nbsp;for poor performance of items.<br /><br />I am still unhappy to know that I have to keep a very&nbsp;close eye on the wear and tear of these pants now (what if the fabric splits on the butt like this?), but at least I know we can get a refund if they do eventually&nbsp;rip/split. I will have to keep my eyes out for something similarly affordable, washable and of better lasting quality&nbsp;that I can replace these with if this does turn out to be a general issue with the fabric of these particular pants.
