Thanks for all the advice! I did find some non-distressed, dark bootcut denim at ON today, and ended up buying a pair of size 0 "Flirt" jeans. With my heels, though, they're about an inch too long but fit elsewhere, although I don't think they're as tight as I normally wear my jeans. So I ordered a pair of the same style in 0P and 0S to see how they fit, along with the "Diva" style as well, which is supposed to be less curvy, so maybe they'll be a little tighter.

I also bit the bullet and ordered the 00P BR "curvy" bootcuts. I will post photos of all of these when I receive them for some feedback from you ladies.

Thanks for all the advice! If I decide I don't like any of them, I will definitely try your suggestions to look at some other brands. Stalking deals on ebay is a great idea!

Have you tried Urban Outfitters? Is $58 in your price range for jeans?

http://www.urbanoutfitters.com....._APP_JEANS

http://www.urbanoutfitters.com.....EWARRIVALS

I can't vouch for their bootcuts, but I live in their BDG cigarette high rise skinnies during tuck-jeans-into-boots season. I take a 2p at Loft, Gap, BR, and a 26/27 at UO. So I'm guessing you'd need a 24. You'll need them hemmed because they will be long. (With the skinnies I don't bother hemming -- I just scrunch them, or cuff them when wearing boots over).

Otherwise I second the suggestion to stalk online for premium denim on sale. Size 24 tends to be available -- at least it seems so to me, whenever I'm stalking for my own size!

I just happened upon a pair of Gap Sexy Boot cuts in a consignment store the other day and bought them. I remember stalking them last winter and reading all of the reviews online (apparently, they vary wildly from batch to batch and from year to year). The ones I found had a medium rise and a wide waist. They are in a nice, plain dark wash. I think they're worth a try. They do run long though, but so does premium denim, so you'd be shortening them either way.

I just came across a pair of 7FAM jeans on the Nordstrom site. The only size left is a 24P. They are a nice dark wash, bootcut jean.

Go someplace like Nordstrom or Macy's and try on all of their petite or short inseam premium jeans. Then, after finding the perfect brand and fit, stalk them on line (including eBay) and you can often get a NWT or gently used pair for a lot less. What you would pay for new jeans at Gap/BR/J Crew in any case.

One last suggestion is to try Levi's curve ID.

Re: curvy. I am all curves but not big. I don't mind buying clothes labeled "curvy." But I can see how curvy might have other connotations than referring to a woman's waist-to-hip ratio which can be confusing. In premium denim, they have curvy petite fits in small sizes. I would also suggest looking for jeans with a curved waistband if you have gapping issues, it makes a huge difference.

I hate to say it, but premium jeans may be your best bet. I buy mine used many times - a good resale store could be the answer.

I totally understand your frustration. I have had pretty good success with Old Navy, but at a 4 petite or 4 short, I am able to try it on in store. There is some waist gap for me, but the length works which is so rare that I go with it. I've also had some luck with NY and Company jeans in the past.

Okay, so to recap, I've been looking for the perfect pair of dark bootcut jeans; I want two pairs at least, one for heels and one for flats. I found a gorgeous pair of jeans with crooked pockets (returned), a lovely pair at Banana Republic (too expensive to buy more than one pair), and some "meh" ones at Target.com (cute, but big waist gap; I have a thick waist for my size, so had to size up, but then the rise is too tall and hits me at a narrow part of the waist, so I get a big waist gap). I would have to have the Target jeans altered, and for the quality they're just not worth it.

Today I plan to look at Old Navy; they have some great looking dark bootcuts online, but I want to see them in person first. Of course petites and "short" length are only offered online (sigh), so I'd have to order and then who knows what I would actually get (I HATE ordering online). Why does ON sell their larger size pants (2 and up, I think) in the short length in stores, but not the 0's? Wouldn't someone small be more likely to be short??

Jeans shopping kills me. If I don't find any I like at ON, I'll just wait for a good coupon code from BR (I get them pretty often), but to be honest the jeans at BR are "curvy' size and I feel weird buying a pair that says "curvy," even though they fit, because I don't consider myself curvy at all. Dumb, right?? Okay time to get ready to shop. I'll post pics if I end up getting anything!

Also...does anyone know of any other places to shop for jeans that carry a 0P or 00P? I can also wear a 1S to 3S in juniors, but juniors jeans tend to either be way to stretchy or have a lot of whiskering. I am looking for plain dark blue bootcuts...no fading, whiskering, etc (or at least very, very minimal; I don't want to wear whiskered jeans with flats....they cut me off at the hip).
