Sal and suntiger- thanks, feedback much appreciated. Because of my weight fluctuations, I have developed some very complex rules for my wardrobe management. I will not bore you with details, but I will definitely keep pants in the holding zone and will actually donate them if I haven’t worn them at least one full year (I am tracker, so easy to tell). This year it is going to be more difficult to decide because some things did not get worn sometimes only because there were no opportunity or occasion, so I may even hold onto them for 2 years.

I agree about putting the 2nd and 3rd into the holding zone. Take it from me, replacing every 5 or 10 lb is an expensive strategy :/ Love the color of the first pair, and the red and dark pairs look like they fit well. As far as the plaids, some don't line up quite right.

The second and third look too big, the second probably beyond alteration. One or two of the others might benefit from a tuck at the waist but overall look good to me.

I know your weight does fluctuate and I would probably keep any that you really like in a holding zone for 6 months to a year.

Anchie, many of these pants are just too big! Others are okay and simply need waist adjustment/alteration. You have the same sway back thing going on as me - and I have to alter high rises sometimes too :)

These are KILLER:

Gingham pants

RobinF and Elle - thanks, Zara pants are in the donate bag. I am also very close to putting BR high waisted wide leg pants there too. They are linen and freshly washed, so they may not look that bad, but after few hours of wearing they start stretching and falling down. I may try putting them in dryer on high to see if it will shrink them.
Lynn - appreciate your detailed feedback so much. I am not sure I understand everything so going to try Escada and Mother pants again and try your suggestions, so hopefully it will be clearer to me where the issues are.

You do have a nice collection of pants an I seriously love the colors you have. Some of them do seem a bit big but since you've talked about weight fluctuations, I don't know if it is worth altering them at this point in time. The only ones I would definitely get rid of are the Zara blue pants. I also second the idea of sewing on some belt loops on the first high waisted BR crops.

Archie you have a nice collection of pants. Here is my take as a VERY picky seamstress.
The Escada pants have 2 issues- The drag lines you see pointing toward your buttocks are because you need a bit more fabric over that area. You also need more crotch length (the length from front to back between the legs) If you have adequate seam allowances they could be let out some on the side seams and also on the inseams. The diagonal lines from the side seams to the knee can be caused by a couple of things but the most common one is because you need more length along the side seam (that is the pants are pulled up too high on @ the side waist). Try pulling the waist down @ the sides and see if the wrinkles disappear.. That said they aren't that bad. Again very picky seamstress here!
The 2 pants that are too big can be altered. The turquoise Zara might require major surgery however. Try pitching out the fabric along both side seams from waist to knee and see how much that helps. If still baggy they would have to be completely remade from waist to knee which isn't difficult but is time consuming.
The slightly loose BR pants would be an easy fix. You could add some belt loops in a contrasting fabric such as leather if that would help.
The pants with the stripe down the side look like they pull slightly toward the front @ hip level but that could just be the angle of the picture. If they are pulling letting them out @ the hip would help.

The other pants fix great! Lucky you.
Again these are VERY PICKY SEAMSTRESS comments. Most people, including most seamstresses, would be happy with the fit on all of these except for the Zara pants.

Hope you find this helpful.

wow! it's a good idea to filter through / amend the trousers that don't work for you!
here's my 2 cents...

Escada is fine, lovely colour!!!
Zara is indeed to big, could this be altered?
BR wide crops.. I think the fit can be ok, depending on the tops, but I am sure the length is flattering on you
Black Zara is fine.. do you like the opening at the end? just wonder what type of shoes would work with it.
Navy Zara doesn't fit you as nice as some others...
I think both red trousers looks lovely on you
Mariella Rosatti camel looks fine
Boden navy... I am a bit OCD and it would drive me nuts, the lines are not aligned. Sorry, it's difficult to be objective!
Mother with side strap looks fine

2 dark neutral pairs, black and navy. Black are from Zara also known as Janet pants, navy are from Drykorn, and are part of my navy suit. Because they are dark difficult to see the details. As I am going along and taking pictures from behind I am getting more and more upset, not really liking the look from the back. I never really paid much attention how my pants look from behind and rarely took pictures from that angle. So this is kind of hard sharing but I started it and want to complete.

Jenni NZ - thanks for the feedback. I must admit I was surprised or better say horrified how Zara pants look from the back, so this is already useful exercise.

Next are BR high waisted wide crops that are not sitting high because no belt option. I made a mistake buying pants without belt loops and now they are difficult to accommodate weight fluctuations. They are also from last summer but not worn this year. What to do with them?

My last post about pants fit was very helpful and educational for me. Pants are the back bone of my office wardrobe and I like having some variety - dark and light neutrals, some color and some pattern. But I am very unhappy with my current collection. I bought a lot of pants last year but I haven’t worn them for a while since I wasn’t in the office since 7th February. Now that I have to go back, I tried them all on, both spring/summer and fall/winter ones. And I am not sure that I like how most of them fit any more. I would like to hear from you which ones are OK, which ones will benefit from alterations and which ones I should let go. I already weeded out those that were obviously not good. There are many here that I am on the fence but hoping that they can be saved.
First here are Escada wool pants that I wore only few times. I love the color and got them at huge discount so maybe sale googles were at play here. What do you think? I would not tuck in and here is also example of how I would wear them in the outfit minus the shoes.
