Thanks for thinking of me regarding the YLF Australian get together but I think there are just too many personal hurdles to overcome in getting to this first one, lol (time, work, finances, kids!!!!!)but I will certainly follow the progress with interest and hope I can make it to subsequent gatherings.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions it really means alot to me. Kristine thanks for taking the time to do that - you're such a doll!

I just posted a WIW thread kind of showing my slightly updated hairstyle, Kaycee you must have read my mind because what you've described is almost what I had done. I'm happy with the fringe for now but she cut it on the longer side so I can cut it shorter if I get game. I will try to get a proper photo of it rather than the wonky one on my other thread!

Kaycee I also noticed you're in NSW - any chance you are able to make it up for our get together in October?

I think a wispy side-swept fringe would be perfect on you. I am no expert but would also recommend more severe thinning of the lower layers to create a new shape. This could be versatile in that it could be dried and straightened into a sleek bob, or flicked out at the ends. I do love your hair colour and it in no way resembles Julia lol.

The Ashlee Simpson look is perfect, exactly what I would have suggested. I would recommend against a straight-across fringe because this may accentuate the squareish shape of your jawline but a more gentle sweeping fringe would be extremely flattering!

Don't worry, you don't look like Julia Gillard

With your pretty face and similar coloring I think the Ashlee Simpson look with fringe/bangs would be perfect for you!! You can retain your length and add some drama...NICE choice for you!!!

I've been surfing the net and I found this photo of Ashlee Simpson.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com.....3c7796.jpg

I really like the fringe on this and her hair color is similar already to mine. This is also a bit longer so like you said KP I can grow it out if I dont like it (probably after alot of tears and frustration though!). I cant get over the feeling that I am looking like Julia Gillard at the moment, and not in a good way! I also think that due to the choppier layers on the sides & back of my hair needs a little bit more texture at the front.

I am hoping that the lovely hair experts on YLF come pay me a visit for a professional point of view

I have no suggestions, except to say that if you don't like it, you can always grow it out. I'd probably be inclined to start with a longer and soft fringe, maybe even one that you could sweep to the side. I can't think why, but I have an inkling it would suit you. Also if you don't like it, it will be less time for it to grow out! Oh, and don't do it if you have a cowlick in the front of your head. I do, and tried a fringe (bang) once and it was a *disaster*! No amount of product, blow-drying etc, could get it to lie flat for any amount of time. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. How exciting though, I love seeing the change a cut can make!

I think your hair is really pretty, I love the color! A fringe would probably look great on you, do you have photoshop or anything where you could color it in?

Hi puffenstuff, I don't have any input on the hair front as I'm certainly no expert. However I've been looking at face shapes recently, and to me you look like you have a rectangular face shape, with a broad forehead and strong jawline. The cheesy grin is really sweet!

My hair is driving me to dispair lately. I've had the same kind of style for a while, just below shoulder length and layers through it because I have alot of hair - according to one hairdress I went to she said my hair is fine but there is alot of it??? Anyhow I am thinking that I need something to better flatter my face shape. So this is where I need your help, I dont know what my face shape is and hence I dont know what is the most flattering for me

Here is the most recent picture
http://farm5.static.flickr.com.....a33e_b.jpg
This is an oldish picture but more of a close up (cheesy grin alert!)
http://farm5.static.flickr.com.....4933_m.jpg

Working with the current length I have, there are not many changes I can make. I dont really want to go much shorter because I like the flexability of having it a bit longer so I can still tie it back into a pony when I want to. So I am thinking of a fringe (I think you call them bangs?). I wish there was a way I could picture it on me before getting it done!! So I need some thoughts and feedback pretty please with a cherry on top
