Then I started keeping the heat at a lower setting and using a heat protectant and now my hair is holding up much better. I can't figure out how to do it artfully without burning my fingers, and the plates are not only narrower but much shorter, so the hair keeps slipping out! I probably need to do smaller sections. I have 30 days to practice (before I can't return it). I'm trying to avoid using it more than 3 times a week because it's quite drying for my hair, but I'm going to try practicing while it's unplugged. And guess what. It includes the kind of bangs I swore I would never get! But I pulled a bunch of my hair forward and pinned it so I could sort of get an idea of how it would look, and it was actually pretty cute. So here is my updated hair collage! The 3 pictures of the ASOS model are the overall cut I want, and then the pictures of the Kate Spade model and Zooey are possibilities for how I'd like my bangs. I'm hoping for a little bit of "side" fringe so it looks cute when I put my hair back or in a headband. Not sure what that is called, exactly. My hair is still not long enough for this cut but I can at least get it shaped/styled so it will hopefully grow into the style I want.</p> <p>Sadly, the guy who cut my hair last time is gone. I just have bad luck with stylists. They all seem to dump me.
