Today, sadly, is the final day of our trip. We are waiting at the Anne Frank house and enjoyed the most delicious ham and cheese croissants. Haven't had a bad pastry yet here. </p> <p>Amsterdam is such a fascinating juxtaposition between the gritty and the sophisticated. It's the flotsam and jetsam littering the streets after Saturday night, and it's the freshly cleaned streets on Sunday morning. It's the immense treasure trove of art in the museums as well as the "coffee shops" on every corner. So fun to experience this together; B's never been outside of North America before (save Hawaii) and I've been to Europe but not to any of the places we've been. I don't know if we will ever be able to take 15 days off work at the same time as we are doing now, but wow, SO worth it!!!
