It takes slight waist- narrowed cardigan to get the look I want. I think it’s also the different look, somewhat like wearing a tailored shirt with a dressy long skirt. And different from a blazer, even the tuxedo look- sort of relaxed + tailored elegance. This can be important for me for some environmental norms where a tailored jacket looks too stiff. Yes, I get the critiques. But I’m trying to do better at “ seeing” elements of an underlying pattern that I can use. Alyssa Beltempo is really good at this-don’t let the exact items confuse you.<br /> Shoes are especially glam because of heels and pointy toes. That’s out the window for me but still have aspirational loafer or ankle strap flat that’s ok for just party wear- so goal is that material has to be more glam if possible. It may be that I’d actually need to wear a sneaker and so might have to te- think paying for a sneaker that I can’t actually wear as a casual sneaker in order the get the refinement that allows it to work for dressy, so it becomes a “ sitting sneaker” ( well, a little more comfy than that, but you get the idea!) but is more findable / wearable than a regular shoe.<br /> I actually do like collared shirts in glam fabrics- not as huge as hers.<br /> I think one key for me element is the crisp pants which I actually I CAN do - especially since these could have as easy waist if will be covered by shirt/ top as the uniform. That is how close this is to my ideal outfit for flitting through a casually glam gathering.&nbsp;<br />It has an oversized button down, shiny (comfy, stretch) pants and low heeled shiny shoes. No pattern,&nbsp;<br />The shoes and earrings carry it, for me.&nbsp;<br />The shoes might need a sling back strap, but hey, easy kick off for sitting and dancing.&nbsp;<br />I could happily do this in other colours, too. A uniform. Hot pink comes to mind. Pale blue would be stunning.&nbsp;<br />As I turn into my mom, lol, this is a relaxed version of her at home style.&nbsp;<br />Anyone else have a genetic fashion component?&nbsp;</p>
