I love chocolate brown. I bought a pair of brown corduroy jeans from Everlane recently. They are one of my favourite pairs of jeans. I think Everlane still has them. They are definitely high rise.

So helpful, ladies! The Theory pants at Outnet are an option, as might be joggers or sweatpants--that, now that I search--I can actually find in dark browns (duh).
https://www.goodamerican.com/p.....038;utm_so
and
https://www.goodamerican.com/p.....#038;_ss=r

I would definitely only pay sale prices for designer clothing, but I might bite to make an account at YOOX and look. Thank you for the suggestions; hope the above is helpful to others who are looking!

I tried these, but they're looong in the regular. Like dragging on the floor several inches-and my inseam is about 30". They may be ok in petite.

Following with interest because I prefer dark- medium- dark pants and enjoy combinations of brown with black or navy so can mux these neutrals and not run a parallel “ brown “ capsule. Harder to do with darker browns, but the right shades ( often if one of the neutrals is “ off”, such as off- black, lighter navy, or textured, it works well) ; also ready- made combos in checks, tweeds. Agree hard to find, and can be random, and I don’t like constantly looking.

I agree that dark browns are hard to find, especially in bottoms. Having said that I did find pairs below in the last two years, a coated jean and cotton cropped pants, as well as plaid wool pants. White House Black Market tends to do different color collections every month, so it is likely they will have a brown one at some point (they did have it at the end of the summer last year). If you are open to possibility of plaid and other subtle patterns, that will broaden the options. If you are interested in plaid, the Theory plaid pants are still available, at big discount as well: https://www.theory.com/straigh.....8_D1U.html. I also second the suggestion of Yoox.

Brown pants are hard to find! I picked up these cotton joggers. They are lighter weight than my chino type pants. Not hardly dressy, so they may not work if you want a true trouser type of pant.

This year I bought a pair of high waisted brown twill trousers from Antonio Melani at Dillard’s; they are a sort of cocoa brown and are still in stock. I would also check Madewell and Talbots, where I have in the past found brown herringbone and tweed pants or pant equivalents (joggers and culottes).

Browns are big again here but mid browns like cognac are still much easier to find than dark brown. Have you looked at YOOX? I can often find something there that’s not available anywhere else.

Column, it is lovely to hear from you and I hope you are well,Dark brown seems reasonably well represented in designer brands, so hopefully it is a sign of things to come in reasonably priced retailers.
Having a search on the Outnet, I found these very fabulous and classic Theory wool trousers. Dark brown is a lovely neutral and definitely looks very fresh after so many years of wearing black.

Hello dearest Fabbers,

I'm here reading, faithful as ever. Life just does not conspire for me to post much.

I have been intrigued by the "brown is back" mantra over the last year-or-so. Dark brown is my preferred neutral in place of black. Indeed, shades of brown have returned--but no dark bottoms I can find, from chocolate to mahogany to espresso. Bummer for one who likes her bottom half dark!

The floral espresso JJill Skirt and the dark mahogany BR track pants recently in Finds are possibilities (reviewers don't really rave about the pant fit with a wide and midrise waist--I need a high rise) but most browns are, honestly, light.

I have purchased tan, khaki, dark olive, maroon, and black to mix with brown, and I have dark brown leggings to go under tunics...but dark brown pants in particular are indeed a HEWI!

Any suggestions?
