I also have the belting concern with short-waistedness and boobage. I think scarves help hide this a bit, and I hardly ever button things all the way up. Sometimes I do the tie-behind-the-back thing with belts, or I'll just tie them in the front but loosely, surrendering a bit of waist definition but adding some ease. </p> <p>As for this with a scrarf, I think it's totally doable -- of course almost any solid colored scarf will work, but also a large, not small or dainty, print scarf that has some tone(s) from the coat could create a nice pattern/texture mix. It's a trench with a difference. I like to wear my trench with skinny jeans, opened with the belt tied in back. A tonally inspired outfit of creams and yellows would look great with this.
