I talked about my mom in an earlier post but then stsrted thinking about my daughter. She is 22 and we have very different styles too. She dresses in mostly black with just a touch of color here and there and my wardrobe jumps at ya with all the different colors in it.

My mum isn't that interested in clothes, and I have noticed that she is rather keen for me to dress like her (she's in her 80s) which I find rather odd ...

My younger son always asks for my advice on colours and things 'going together' but I let him choose his own clothes (he's 16) as he is his own person.

I've always wondered the same thing too. It definitely would have been nice to have someone show me how to use makeup as a teenager! So much eyeliner in my past...

I am trying to teach my son the importance of looking clean and respectful without making him dress the way I want him to.

My mom loves clothes but we have completely different styles. Its not hard for me to shop for her though because i know what styles and colors she likes. She is much more conservative than i am.

I'm somewhere in the middle. I have a mom who loves fashion, but doesn't always make the best fashion decisions. But since I've gotten more into fashion, we've gotten to shop together and had great fun.

As someone who grew up with a mom who saw fashion as unimportant and even frivolous, I've always envied woman (like Angie) who grew up with stylish and fashion-conscious moms. Without a good example, I feel like I've had to learn everything the hard way through trial and error.....LOTS of error! sigh.

But.....then I started to wonder if having a very fashionable mom carries its own burdens in addition to its benefits.

What do you think? What's your experience?
