When I was younger and thinner, I got away with it, but in retrospect, even then it probably wasn't my best look. </p> <p>I tried a pair of high-waisted pants a couple of years ago when they started reappearing in stores, and my husband (gently) let me know they weren't doing my shape any favors. Pencil skirts with slightly higher waists don't seem to cause this problem so much. Somehow the proportions work better on me, and it's less difficult to find a skirt that fits me than pants that do. </p> <p>Now, I try to never say never, but I think this particular style is just difficult for my body. The cost was minimal. I am very happy.</p> <p>These come up very high on the waist. I realize I have no proper belt for them, as all my belts are too wide, being fitted for lower rises. I'll have to have more holes poked.&nbsp;</p> <p>Here are some ways I have styled the mom jeans. Please tell me what you think, which one(s) you prefer.</p> <p>1- With a flowey silk blouse and black sandals;<br />2- With taupe Steve Maden&nbsp;booties and&nbsp;a boho blouse;<br />3- With the same blouse, boho necklace and heeled Unisa sandals I had resoled (makes a huge difference for comfort);<br />4- With the Ara sandals (which I am still not sure if I will keep), a lace white top from Talbots&nbsp;and a short sleeves trapeze&nbsp;jacket (thrifted);<br />5- With Ara sandals, white crepe-de-chine front&nbsp;top, a cotton jacket and cheap but effective&nbsp;jewelley.&nbsp;<br />6- 1950 power. rolled, loafers, headband, tucked polo... one this, I heard from younger colleagues that apparently the brand Tommy Hilfiger was supposed to be "preppy snob". Meaning that tops had to show the little TH logo. Have you heard of this? I get mine at Costco.&nbsp;</p> <p>Thanks for looking.</p>
