He was at his parents' house last week, and my sister was all choked up about how soon it won't be the same any more, ever again. It's bittersweet. I wanted to give her a hug, but I'm 1200 miles away. When I go up for the wedding, I'm thinking of taking her a little present to say that, even among all the young women, she is still beautiful (her husband has relatives who compete in beauty pageants, and I get the feeling that she is under a lot of pressure about her looks). Compensated for it all my life and do well as long as I stay healthy, maintain a good weight to put less strain on joints, and exercise. Breathe and move--two necessary activities for all of us. Yesterday I gardened for 5 hours, today I will spray for 3 hours and take a long walk. Tomorrow I go to the gym. She costumed dancers and cuts for movement -- you'll look beautiful coming down the aisle and on the dance floor. If you're travelling, they pack like a dream. If you're sweating, a cold-water wash returns it to as good as new.</p> <p>A couple things to check on now that it passes your initial test -- </p> <ul> <li>Take some test photos with and without flash. Her fabrics are shiny, so I'd make sure the subtle pattern isn't looking too weird where it hits you (vs 20 y.o. model!)</li> <li>Depending on where the neckline hits you, reconsider at least a delicate necklace or pendant. The beading is soooo subtle that it won't compete, and sometimes that open neckline can look a little bare to me -- especially since you'll end up with close-up shots too. [Obviously it's a personal preference thing, but I did want to encourage you to try a few things out.]</li> </ul> <p>ps if you want to hold onto this one and continue the hunt -- and haven't already checked Neiman Marcus (and Last Call), Lord and Taylor, and Bloomingdales -- all of them had big Memorial Day sales last year. And really all have random fancy dresses under $200 routinely.&nbsp; </p> <p>pss You may want to check out Parker NY dresses -- see "sale" comment above &nbsp;-- as the silk ones have a gorgeous weight to them and will showcase your modern style.
