I think right now, there might not be a huge distinction because we seem to be in a (for want of a better term) "modernist" fashion phase -- with the emphasis on minimalism and clean lines (on the whole).&nbsp;<br /><br />Fashion's always hearkening back to earlier times as well, so there are always retro elements. But sometimes more than others, it seems to me.&nbsp;<br /><br />Ultimately, I think modern and current can be distinguished, at least in part. For example -- a full skirt is current, but perhaps not super-modern. Of course, the one you buy in the store today is going to be much&nbsp;more modern-looking than the one you inherited from your mother or grandmother.
