Well the bridal shops usually add them for free when you buy a dress. You should really go and ask for one. They have 2/3 circles variations. And from a sumer bride I found out they are much more fun than petticoats who feel uncomfortable in heat. So frothy petticoats in autumn/winter and bridal crinolines in the summer. Why shouldn't you use the ones in bridal shops? ( they might be more inexpensive than vintage ones, they're just some circles made of elastic plastic linked by some voile)

Kristine, you might check out ebay(link below)...I found petticoats for $33 and they come in all colors!
I've been contemplating getting one myself. Let us know if you do!

Check on ebay for vintage crinoline slips--they are abundant! I have one for all my 50s dresses when I feel like a bit more drama is appropriate.

Thanks for the suggestions! It's very clever, but I'm not sure I could wear padded panties. I'd feel so self conscious! "Hey, isn't her bootie larger than normal today?"

I did find this slip which might work, too bad it's over $80!

Ebay has tons of vintage ones, but they always cost a fortune. I have one I wear for costumes
http://www.amazon.com/Item-Bun.....38;sr=8-16

but if shortened (take up waistband) would work. I agree try bridal or dance stores. I think the square dancing and other dance types wear them regularly.

A suggestion:

http://www.barenecessities.com.....38;search=

I own a pair like these.

HerRoom has even more options if you search "padded panties." Here's another suggestion:

http://www.herroom.com/fashion.....-pad.shtml

Yes, someone thought of your problem and invented something: foam pads by magic body fasion, built in underwear or stick-on ones:

I've seen dresses where it was sewn in, but I've never seen them for sale separately (well, except for wedding dresses). Having said that, it would be EASY, I mean, REALLY, REALLY EASY to make one if you wanted to see how it would fluff up your skirts.

Is there such a thing? I have a few skirts and dresses which would benefit from a touch of volume on my (rather flat) backside.
