Both jackets look like a good fit, but I really like the way the tux jacket looks on you. The EF jacket is pretty, but I do find the proportion odd--probably just too long.
Your outfit that you posted for jacket comparison is fantastic!

I love the AT tux on you, Ann! If you don't close it (and why should you) there would be no distortion on the bust I think. I am so glad you got it!
Honestly I am not in love with EF jacket on you - maybe I need to see a size up in it? I like AT so much more!

Yes, gryffin (if you pop back in) you are right! -- And sorry, Ann, for threadjacking --

I think my struggle with long jackets is that my legs are proportionately short. I have other body type variables that should make them a good fit for me, but that throws things off, or at least makes them harder. Especially since my kneed to ankle is the proportionately short part. This one is so, so beautiful and super tempting for me.

Dashielle - the AT jacket is totally stunning on you!! If I had not already blown my budget plus, I would be all over it. It's always hard to see detail with black so I can't appreciate the lapel issue but I think you look amazing!! It is really interesting to see you in the EF jacket because I am a little rectangular pancake - nothing much fore or aft and the jacket fits me like it does on the model. I really like it on you but it creates much more of an hourglass effect on you than on me where it hangs pretty straight. I am only 5'3" but my height is in my legs, particularly knee to ankle. It hits me at about 35" or about 2/3 down the thigh. But then I will wear duster length to the knee happily without a backward glance. Suz and I have had this debate because she had said she feels overwhelmed by long jackets too while I am ransacking the universe to find more of them!! But this silhouette seems to accentuate your gorgeous curves while for me it reinforces the long vertical line. I also agree with Janet, I can wear the jacket closed, but I prefer it on myself open over a column of color.

Ann, what about the leather lapels is putting you off? I can't remember seeing "distortion". This size is perfect. It's killer, and a completely different animal to the Zara. You battle to find jackets that fit - and this one has an AMAZING fit. FWIW.

I wanted to size up and try a 10 just to make sure it didn't lay flatter on the chest, and they didn't have one in store.

Would you wear them both closed? I think they look great -- particularly the tux jacket! But I kind of want to see them open, if you wear them that way -- I suspect the EF would look less overwhelming in length if we see more of the layers beneath. I tend to only close jackets when I'm about to put a coat on over them. Thanks for modeling, from this busty non-shortie!

I tried on a small of the Eileen Fisher Alpaca Notch Collar Jacket and an 8 in the AT Tuxedo jacket and here are my findings. The EF jacket is heavenly snugly as many have noted. The EF store only has the brown version and Nordies only has the Grey. I felt a little overwhelmed with the length, at 5'2", but love the lack of lapels. The AT tuxedo is a cool jacket, and it stretches, which I love. I didn't love the distortion of the faux leather lapels in the chest area. That may be my poison eye though. Hope this helps anyone looking at these items.
