I still love all blues on you and honestly I do not see much difference color wise with silver hair. For me it is more a hair style difference than the color...you rock them all still.
However may it be a case when you feel more emotional pull towards some blues vs. others?

I can understand how you see shirt dresses, for sure, but I have a soft spot for them. They were a great style for my mum and also, it turns out, for me.

Ooooo.... I love you In that navy dress.
Chambray too looks good on you. You are queen blue.

On a side note, shirt dresses to me look like I couldn't find my clothes next morning and grabbed a large(male) shirt to run back home. No pants, you know what I mean, right... *Runs away before fashion police hear this blasphemy and arrest her*

I also liked the darker blues best, but I suspect my preference has much to do with my liking grey-haired, pixie Suz in an edgier look. To my eye, the chambray dress worked because of its the way you styled it--crisp, bold, and ultra modern.

For what it's worth, I nodded at the comment when one of your friends said you looked like Suz's edgier sister. While Suz's look is modern classic, her edgier sister has more eclectic, modern edge to her style. In some of the pictures, it looks like you've raided Suz's closet.

Interesting, Lisa!

I think it's also styling (or lack thereof). Normally I roll these pants more carefully and wear only certain tops with them -- in this case I just pulled them on like PJs and put on the tops -- merely to show the colours. Which is always kind of a dumb thing to do because it distracts!

Thank you all for your thoughts -- it was super helpful to me.

I am not averse to any of them, but i do like the dramatic ones. A comment you didn't ask for: your shorter hair makes your head look a little smaller. So the more voluminous white pants seem a little too big with the super pixie you have now..

You still can do all sorts of blues and I must say the graphic print in 6 is my favorite as is the other print in 12. I, too, like the darker shades as in 10. I can't get enough of these before and afters.

So I haven't read the other comments yet, and here's my two cents:

I was going to say I like the deeper and bolder blues the best with your hair color, but then I saw the dress - it's lighter and it's gorgeous. So my conclusion is: You can wear them all! I hate to be like, "it's all good" and not seem to offer any real help, but I truly think these all work well with your new hair color. Since I always like to see dark with light, that's probably why my first inclination was to say that the darker and brighter colors worked best with your lighter hair.

I know I'm late to the discussion but I actually like the lighter blues, especially the chambray dress. I guess you get as many opinions as there are people! My favorite is #12, loved it in your previous post also. But that said I do really like the dark dress (it looks black to me but must be navy?). So I say wear as much blue as you like! They all look great.

I'm with the chorus that prefers you with the more saturated or darker colors. And what Angie said about not looking at colors in isolation.

I think the lighting at different times of year makes a bit difference as well. It's more intense in summer so bold colors look better.

I'm not so sure you are a summer either. I don't remember all the newer 12 categories, but you definitely are more towards one of the edges of summer.

I think my Mom was an autumn, but most of her life she wore summer colors, especially after her hair went gray. I suppose it was part her personality as well--she wasn't bold--but she was so boring in all those pastels.

Congratulations on a fabulous series. I'm going to reread these threads when I get some more time.

Suz, you are absolutely right. Originally a Summer, I now consider myself to be Cool, using the boldest of the Summer colours and a few from Winter - including black. These colours seem to have far more impact with grey hair than the softer pastel shades, which make me look rather washed out.

From what I can see, you still look fabulous in a variety of blues. In this group my least favorite is 4 and my favorite is 6. Please keep a variety of blue in your wardrobe. You will miss it if you don't. I like navy, sapphire and icy blue best on myself. Cobalt and chambray are ok but not wonderful.

The only one I'm not a fan of is #2, and I think that's as much to do with the cut and casualness of it as the color, which is a little washed out. You look spectacular in the dark blues, but you look beautiful in all of them, in my view. You are really inspiring, because you definitely are more beautiful with your natural hair color and shorter cut, and that gives me hope.

Shevia, that is interesting. But you also wear a lot of icy light blue, correct? I am wondering if I need to try the icier shades now, and leave the softer medium tones and the muddier shades alone.

I love the chambray dress, too, and am keeping it, but I think maybe now its flattery is largely of cut/ style, as Beth Ann says. It looks good mainly because it's a really good style for me and less because it's a fab colour, although it is an acceptable and not unflattering colour.

Hmmm. I'm actually loving the light chambray -- particularly the dress. It's the middle shades -- especially the classic striped shirt -- that seem better when translated into "Blonde Suz."

The chambray dress is modern, and kind of minimalist. Perhaps I see that it matches your new boldness, even in a soft tone.

Kerry, I am not sure I had done the tightlining in those pics..probably not.

As for more grey-- it can't happen because I'm all grey now! But now it goes from a kind of charcoal to silver and will eventually turn snow white, if my parents are any indication. I'll have to see about the drama quotient of a slightly longer pixie -- my idea is to keep the drama but add just a touch of softness -- so we are not talking a big change from this. Just more texture.

Speaking as another blue-closet type, I agree with Summer: although I think you can still wear any blue, the deeper and cooler ones really seem to snap you into focus. The paler, warmer chambray just looks slightly less interesting. Silvery periwinkle, deep inks and navy are very glamorous on you--and that multi-blue graphic top is spectacular!

I love blue too! I think all of these blues still work and look gorgeous but I will confess to a slight preference for the darker solid - your eyes pop! Are you tightlining here?

Do you think it'll make any difference when you have more grey hair? Do you think the drama value will change with a longer pixie?

I like the ink blue the best on you. It's amazing!
I also rather like the periwinkle-blues better with your new hair.
Actually, I think they all look better with your new hair, even the chambray.

Aww, Jenn --thank you! I think it is true that it feels good just to be who you are, you know? When it's time to stop colouring, it's time.

I can't believe how helpful this is to me -- thank you all so much!!

I think the general consensus is that most blues still look good, but the majority seem to agree that on the whole, the darker, richer blues are a surer bet, and the solids appear more popular than most of the prints, although the sharp architectural print of the Aritzia shirt is very flattering. I think that's partly to do with colour placement, and partly to do with the fact that the angles suit my facial structure and personality.

Angie, I'm keeping my eye open for bright colour at NAS. Fire engine red might be tough to find, but I know I can also wear orchid, magenta, fuchsia, purples, cranberry, burgundy, and more. My eyes are on the lookout!

And yes, that is so true, you have to see colour in relationship.

Summer, that is so interesting. I think our colouring must be very similar indeed. I read somewhere that quite a few "true summers" end up as "true winters" or simply as "cool" seasons -- with the coolest tones from summer's and winter's palette. That sounds pretty accurate to me.

AV, you are not a spanner. I thought I agreed with you at first but in the end, the lighting was so different for those photos and in person the top felt great with the grey hair -- really surprisingly great. It's quite icy, which I think is key .

Re the chambray -- I am in agreement with those who think it is slightly less good than before...but...the dress is such a great dress, and a keeper. The shirt is a slightly different hue and maybe not quite as good. (I bought that dress THREE YEARS ago -- really getting on top of the trend, no? I love it.)

Lyn, thank you, and now I have to go count. Are we talking year round closet and including denim? If so, I know for sure I have more than 48 blue items. If denim is off the list, we might be tied. Either way, we are Queen Blue North America and Queen Blue Oz. :)

Lisa, I know -- I am sorry I didn't style those outfits. I can't count the number of times I've said to a new member re a K/R post -- "can't tell until you style it!!!" I agree about that dress. The colour is not quite right any more but the fit and vibe is awesome.

Isabelle -- you bet it is. Imagine the financial disaster that would await if I could not wear blue any more!

Ooh, those darker shades really pop on you now, but I agree with Angie and others that the lighter ones still work. Actually, I'm really struck by seeing these side-by-side images how much more confident and self-possessed you look with the gray hair. I have a hard time even analyzing the color because you OWN it all.

I really tried to find a blue here that didn't look good but I didn't! That said, I think going forth, you will know if something new should come home with you. You will "feel" the rightness of it; I'm sure of it!

I agree, #2 and #4 don't look as good as the other, darker shades. I like the solids better on you than the 2 prints at the end, too. I look forward to reading your thoughts on patterns.
