Laurie, I do highly recommend the personal styling services. Like any line of clothes, not all pieces will fit every body, and I’ve tried on many pieces that didn’t work for me, That said, I just counted and have somehow amassed 16 pieces over the past three years- many of them became the stylists are so efficient and know what will work for me. All are workhorses, and I frequently have women stop and ask where I got them. (I’m a uniform dresser, and have a job for which I need a range of business casual and corporate clothes, so I do fit their target demographic.)

I've been tracking MM LaFleur. (Had to quit clicking on it for a while though because the ads immediately show up everywhere else). I like their blog a lot. I like the minimalist style, and the philosophy that the clothes should not be the main statement, the woman should. That being said, I have not been able to get over the prices and try them. I was tempted to attend a DC event. Toban inspires me to make an appt at the store here and give it a try.

They've always been on my lust after list, but not really practical for my 98% work from home life. Thanks for sharing, I like the tip to contact their stylist for recommendations (if you aren't ready to write them off completely).

I tried them, before they had petites.

Turns out, I needed petites in a big way. The fabric was delicious, but I just wasn't feeling the styling, which seemed to have little personality. It seemed like it would be really great for someone who worked in a hard-core, corporate, dress code environment--but I do not.

I am sorry your selections didn’t work for you. I have 3 pieces from MM La Fleur that I love, for both fit and fabric. Their pants don’t work for me because the rise is too long for me. I was able to go to an in person appointment at the DC location. I had completed a short survey on size and body type and they picked items for me. As a petite, I knew some pieces were unlikely to work. I highly recommend contacting them about whether they recommend a style for a particular body shape. Also, use the filters for your body type (I use the ‘bust friendly’ and ‘petite friendly’ ones).

Too bad the pieces didn’t work for you. I’ve had quite a bit of success with the brand, but I do think that’s because of the combination of my body type and their fit models. As Angie says, “Next!”

THey do seem awfully expensive. Even my “corporate” friends say the prices are too high to be worth it.

MM Lafleur sounded like a good idea- a variety of work dresses and pants. A little expensive, but maybe worth it. After a try on, totally not for me, both in fit, and in value. They are going back!

I ordered the Etsuko dress and the Mejia pant. Both fit me terribly- I'm an apple, and these were definitely designed for someone with a different shape than me.

The Etsuko: liked the fabric, but way too tight in the bust and mid-section, loose the shoulders, hips, and thighs. $195.

The Mejia pants were lined wool, the lining felt cheap. They were fine in the waist, but very baggy in the hips and thighs. $225.
