I think they are a classic and a handy thing to pull out whenever an outfit needs some extra pizzazz. Trinny says they can help reflect light onto your face in a flattering way. So there’s that too. </p> <p>Merwoman, the top is changeable! In person it looks more gold but in the photo it looks more green. It’s an unusual colour. Light gold is easier to find. I did get one on the skirt from an SA on the weekend, but you never know with SA’s if that’s just an ice breaker. You know, you could wear your metallic tops dressed down during the day. Just saying.</p> <p>Jessi, thanks. I suppose I do think of most of my metallic tops as being more of a cool weather item. But I do have a sleeveless metallic top that I’d wear in warmer weather. Maybe not high summer. I think colour plays a role. A light gold or silver sleeveless metallic would be fine for high summer. But black or brown might feel a bit heavy. </p> <p>Thanks Jaime. I actually bought a stone coloured pair of tall boots a few years ago and applied a “custom blend” pink metallic polish to them for a dusty metallic pink look. They came out pretty good but I didn’t get to wear them because they have heels and shortly after I got them I hurt my back. Then came the pandemic. I still have them and may eventually give them a whirl for a non-walking event.
