I have given my husband an all-time highlight list of presents he could give me, and a Missoni scarf is high up there. I will have to write this down for him though. I am just nuts about the way they use color. It's really something special. They also make lovely dessert plates. *sighs*

Thanks, Scarlet. I loved the cardiwrap I had made in the fabric so much I ended up going for the skirt 6 months later.

[I don't wear them together, though! And I usually wear the skirt with sedate brown, but I was challenging myself to do all color-color, ha.]

Yesssssss. Though you have to watch for the knockoffs there, too, reputable fabric stores won't say "Missoni" on the bolt if it ain't.

I've seen *cough bought cough* both their iconic chevrons and space dye, as well as more muted patterns.

Of course they have levels within levels of fabric quality, but I routinely look at the Missoni at Saks/Nordstrom and my demi-sheer chevron definitely looks and feels like what they sell.

Now with the brand itself you're paying for the fabric and often intricate -- but sometimes not-so-intricate -- construction. [$1000 resort caftans, I'm looking at you.]

As one who skews fairly minimalist but is trying to branch out a hair, a little Missoni goes a LONG way.

So I keep things simple and just try to enjoy the house's amazing sense of color without obsessing about recreating an item. [Good thing, since one of the textiles that I wear on my chest seems to have started life as a home decor item, ha!]

I want you to seriously think about seeing what's out there, Ms S!

They sell off their extra fabric??? Heavens, I am salivating.

Wow, that knockoff is really nice -- sorry the sizing didn't work out for you.

I've been seeing lots of wool jersey and other knits in spendy lines, so hopefully you'll continue to see more "inspired by" pieces in the stores.

Also, last year was an especially good year for Missoni in terms of critical praise, so buyers may have overstocked a little -- maybe keep an eye out on the "luxe" sites for major, major markdowns of the real thing?

[And as a final possibility, Missoni sells off its extra fabric. Given your European location, you may have access to some of the nicest stuff via your fabric stores (B&M or online); maybe you should explore getting something made!

I've had several more simple things created from their various textiles and love them...especially as its the only way I will be wearing Missoni, ha.]

I think these types of knits have been popular for a while. I got my mom and blue wrap dress of similar look a few years ago at the Nordstrom Rack. I think if you keep looking you'll find something.

That dress is very pretty, BTW. The colors are really nice together. Too bad it didn't fit...

I have been noticing Missoni-esque knits in the stores, and I would really like to get something like this:

http://www.soliver.de/Kleid/11.....l_business

Unfortunately I was swimming in even the smallest size, and since it is knit there is really nothing to do about that :(

Has anyone else been noticing this trend?
