Bronze toned mirrors are usually more flattering. Lighting is also important, lighting from the top always casts downward shadows and is the least flattering. It is always better to have lighting coming from various directions. Lighting on both sides of your bathroom or dressing mirror is always going to be better than lighting just from the top of the mirror shining downward.
