Meaning, they are clearly not traditionally flattering, but that's what makes them cool. I have similar fugly-and-fab platform sandals and I love them! I also think from the photos that they are designed so they will look much nicer on the foot than you would initially think. Why wear heels if you’re going to conceal them? I think of possible lower back issues and less ability to move freely as drawbacks of heels. I have some heels, all chosen very carefully to make sure they are comfortable, balanced in a way that doesn’t hurt my back, and that i can run in them. I put up with the heels because I like the way they look. I guess the flat sole, as opposed to a heel that sticks out, makes these somewhat more stable, but even platform shoes that are the same height all the way can be tricky. What’s the advantage of a heel that doesn’t look like one? Is it the shift in posture? I do have a friend who’s under 5’ tall who wears very high stacked heels regularly, to get close to seeing others eye-to-eye, quite literally.
