Angie, yes, I still need pants. I also probably need to make a post and get your ok on the shoes, bag, necklace, ring, bracelet, and shawl/scarf/wrap thing.

I, too, have felt the YLF influence pushing me toward a lighter, softer palette :)

Love the pieces you shared and also loving the prospect of the other dystopian minimalist accoutrements making their reappearance (or integration!) alongside the new palette.

I hope you're getting free ice-cold watermelon. It's very hydrating. Be careful out there, Texas heat is deadly. I think your new clothes will be a great boost to surviving the long, hot summer.

I like your soft color scheme. I was influenced by YLF, too, when I bought pale pink jeans. I can't imagine being outside all day in Texas in summer, though. Stay hydrated!

That color palette feels very contemporary to me -- love the blush-y pink paired with sage green and grey. Those are the colors I wish I wore well! Perfect for summer.

I love your colors. They're pretty much exactly the ones I just bought on my own summer shopping spree, the first major shopping in five years.

And oh my God, jeans (and skinny ones!) in the Texas summer heat. You're going to feel so much better this year.

Nice colours, soft but not sickly sweet. But your work / story reminds me of Lilly Pulitzer... she sold juice at a stand in Florida. I think it was juice, and that drove her to sew up the first of her little dresses...

Great colour selection! I love the potential of the wine, blush and green. Skinny jeans in the Texas heat sounds hard work! That said, when it is super hot here (not Texas to though!) I wear long sleeved tops and sometimes jeans. Looking forward to seeing your combinations.

The pallet of your new things is really lovely. Menopause heat is weird and clothing ( or lack of it) isn't much help because the heat seems to come from deep within rather than from outside temperatures. Ice cold food and drinks can help that inner heat. Bring a cooler full of ice water.

From the looks of your finds, these should serve you well through the heat. Hope they work out well. I also would like some lighter colors in my wardrobe when I shop down the road. I think they can be really flattering.

Shevia, thank you. Yes, the heat seems more stifling this summer, even though it probably isn't any hotter than last year. Ugh!

Lozz, ID Sydney is humid heat, then yeah, you've got some understanding of what it's like here. I'd much rather be in South Texas desert with the dry heat for sure

Looks like a good selection that can mix + match. Cool colours, looking cool + cool thoughts hopefully will help in that heat (I imagine it's like the heat we get here in Sydney)

I like these softer but not brighter colors for you. I have been feeling the heat more than ever before this year - and I am officially in menopause at this point. You have my empathy.

Yeah, the Texas heat can be brutal, but at least I'm in the shade at work, and we do have a walk-in cooler to keep fruit in that I tend to 'clean' a lot when it's stupid hot outside LOL

I can't imagine working outdoors in the Texas heat this summer. I hope the items you ordered will work for you. The older I get, the less I can tolerate the heat, so whatever works...

I've gained some weight recently. Just one size worth. Unfortunately, that means that some of my clothes don't work anymore. Like most of my shorts from last summer. I work at a produce stand, with no air conditioning; so I need summer clothes to avoid death from heat exhaustion at work in the Texas heat.

Apparently, some of y'all are rubbing off on me or menopause is making me crazy because this is what I ordered. A bunch of what I'd call "basics" in a bunch of soft colors. Pale pinks, natural linen colors, soft blue, grey... Yes, a lot of them are not structured (rather pajama-ish) but as long as my butt and bewbs aren't hanging out of my clothes the boss is OK with pretty much whatever I wear.

As I'm sitting here thinking about how "basic" some of these garments are, I'm wondering how on earth I ever survived last summer with no more shorts than I found earlier today when I tried them on for work tomorrow (the only ones that still fit are the ones I've worn to death already this summer). I seriously wore a lot of skinny jeans to work last summer, and that probably explains why I stayed so exhausted and feeling like crud all summer.

I don't know if it's the antidepressants causing me to want to wear softer colors, or if it's this crazy Texas heat, or if I'm starting to go through menopause, or what... But I'm OK with it. I know that personal style is constantly evolving, and that when (what passes for) winter rolls around, my shredded sweaters and moto jeans and other dystopian minimalist accoutrements will be there in my closet waiting for me to grab them to stay warm and go chop wood or shoot a bow and arrow or something LOL

I did also recently acquire these two pairs of shoes in the finds. I'd been looking for a two piece ankle bootie for a while, and while this one from Shelly's London isn't really a two piece, it's INTERESTING and it has that same gap in the shaft where elastic gores would normally be on a chelsea bootie. I also got these Lucky sandals for wearing to work because it gets really hot at work and I want my feet to be able to get some air!

Anyway, thank you all for being such a diverse group of fashion & style junkies that have opened my mind to the possibilities of softer colors and clothes that haven't been stabbed or shot LOL, because I am excited for these clothes to get here next week!
