I can't believe people call Jennifer Lawrence heavy, either. She might not be a Hollywood waif, but she's still quite slim. Frankly, it pisses me off (really, I cannot understate how much it riles me up) that only a narrow range of body types is considered "acceptable" by the fashion industry. She would be a fool to say anything negative about her experience with Elle.</p> <p>But Elle has a history of finding a way to cover up women on their covers who aren't thin. They wrapped Melissa McCarthy in an overcoat with her hair covering half her face when she was on a cover.&nbsp;</p> <p>One might think that after the reactions to that cover they might've been more careful to represent the models more equally or similarly. So it's hard for me to say whether the issue lies with sensitive readers/media or with Elle. Mountain out of a molehill--if Mindy herself was unhappy or felt slighted, I'd feel differently. She is a cute girl with a cute figure: I actually like the emphasis of the head shot, since she is so smart and funny (rather than a fashion icon, say), this photo&nbsp;actually shows what is the most important thing about her (for once!). Plus she looks gorgeous and not as though they made her skin lighter or anything like that.</p> <p>I actually find the photoshopping of Amy's cleavage much more odd in the other cover. Her face is so quirky and distinctive, I think they should have done a close-up of her as well.
