Mo my husband is similar! But we do have some storage because otherwise he can see my "piles of mess" I've adjusted somewhat to his UberMinimalism as a Fairly Messy Girl, and have to be careful about leaving stuff laying around because he has no qualms throwing something out if it's not in its place -_- I think I'm right in the middle of the scale in terms of dress though....

I actually moved into the BF's house 10 years ago and so I had to adjust to his minimalism. I am by no means a hoarder, but we don't even have a bookcase! I told him we would eventually have to find some kind of credenza or japanese stacking cabinets or whatever that we could both agree upon to store things. Two endtables and a TV cabinet are the extent of the storage in the house, besides my bedroom dresser!! Everything ends up in the garage and then when we need it, he doesn't know exactly where he put it . . . like the TV remote when we got a fancy programmable one. It had something wrong with it and so we needed the original remote. Took 2 days to unearth that. My wetsuit . . . haven't seen it in 9 years but I know it's down there somewhere. Sheesh. Out of sight out of mind is the BF's motto I think!

Lol I have been known (just occasionally you understand) to give the innocent big eyed “no I haven’t seen x y or z, have you tried your shed?” when he notices something is missing

eh eh so fun to read your experiences, my hubby is very minimalistic too. We both agree on the house decor (ultra-minimalistic, easy to clean) and we are both very organized!

For maximal read untidy on my breakfast bar I can see DH's loose change, keys, mobile, trail running magazine, inhaler, ipod earphones and hat. He goes drop, drop, drop and I go pick, pick, pick. It's a good job I love him!

Oh Aunty... yes yes yes! Poor hubby has learnt if he puts it down out of place and turns around it will be gone before he can turn back! I am a minimalist and he is a bit of a hoarder. Thankfully he has a studio at home and all the items he thinks need to be displayed usually fine a lovely spot in the studio. He is not into clutter though and he does like things tidy, just a different version of tidy to mine. Probably like you, we have come to understand one another and compromise so both are happy with our environment.

After Angie’s blog I was thinking about my minimalist tendencies at home versus my husband’s maximum tendencies.

I prefer few patterns and ornaments were DH loves all the knick knacks out and on display.

We have sort of come to a compromise over the last 32 years, Lol Ok I do still sneak something’s out of sight when he is not looking. I do remember when we first set up home that DH came in from work and thought we had been burgled because I had spent the day rearranging and putting things away!

Do you have a similar problem of opposites?
