I actually like the idea of the suede one, now that I know it's not corduroy, which was my first guess. I could see it working for winter with tall sleek boots. I suspect the midi is going to be a short lived trend because it's hard to wear, so bring them out and enjoy them for a while again. Wear the suede one with boots and the crochet one with sandals or flats. I would wear fairly close fitting tops with both skirts to show off your nice figure. One of those fitted waiscoats would be really nice with the suede one.
