The color is fantastic. It's a two layer jersey tube with one seam down the back, with a narrow lingerie-style elastic waist. Because it is not shaped at all, on my pear-shaped body the waist lies at the very low hip, which puts the hem just below the widest point of the calf. The material is that heavy slithery jersey that shows every bump.</p> <p>I'm taking it back - I expected something more structured at the waist. I can't think what I could wear on top with this skirt besides something that comes down past my butt. I am actually wearing one this winter. It drops below the knee but is shorter than mid calf. I like the look with a flat boot but I have had it for a while and was wondering today if it was current? Good to know it is:). I definitely find the pencil midi more flattering for me than other midi styles, as much as I love them I always feel a bit frumpy in them. It's just a simple A-line in a wool blend, so it drapes flatteringly from the hip. I never stopped wearing it because it always seemed classic, but it will be nice to put it to use when it's more on-trend.
