I don’t think it’s actually possible to be better than McQueen but I do enjoy doing a little homage.</p> <p>Angie, the boots are from Wittner. It’s an Australian Brand. Suz mentioned that it’s available in Canada too now. They are leather but have that stretchy synthetic panel on the back that makes them a snug fit. That’s my preferred type of tall boot these days. To me heels + midi can look a little too classic, especially when the skirt has volume. I still quite like the look of a tapered midi skirt with heeled ankle boots but I’ve got so used to the comfort of flats or nearly flats (I count 3 cm heels as flat) that it’s hard to go back :)</p> <p>Karen, yay! The thought of a teal velvet dress is making me drool :)</p> <p>Jenn, I sneakily overlap the belts at the back so the top belt keeps the bottom belt in place. In fact, nothing new at all. Today I tried re-mixing some items in a McQueen-ish way by double belting my jacket. It was fun to try, but I don’t think I’ll repeat it, at least not if I’m going shopping. It was a bit of a palaver taking the belts on and off every time I tried something on.</p> <p>I love midis and wear them a lot. Here I used 2 of the techniques that Angie mentions:<br /> Waist definition<br /> “Magical” asymmetrical hem</p> <p>The diagonal lines of the print are pretty magical too.</p> <p>My boots are flat. I much prefer the look of flat footwear with voluminous midi skirts.</p> <p>Very rainy day so my hair went haywire. I’ll take a style hit for the team because we really need the rain.</p> <p>While I was in the city, I checked out S/S arrivals. I was happy to see lots and lots of teal in the stores! The teal midi dress in pic 4 followed me home </p>
