Love the outfit idea, Tarzy... I agree with everyone else that the fit is not quite right.

I think these pants have a chance with a looser or longer fitting top.

Imagine when CIA operatives wind up hanging around the Salvation Army, tracking ... who knows who or what ... all thanks to your microchip pants

Tarzy, I have a pair of Gap microchecks in a different cut, and I find that they stretch quite a bit. While my hips are more like Nicole's and I usually have different fit issues, I thought I'd mention it - since it doesn't sound like you can return them. To me the pulling doesn't look that bad on your picture, but I can understand if it makes you uncomfortable.

Thanks so much for all the honesty!

I ended up changing before my meeting. I wore black jeans with a black top and a cream v-neck cable sweater from GAP that I've had for a year and never wear, with a black and white scarf from Target ($8.99!) I was inspired by GG's cream cardigan thread!

I just didn't feel comfortable with the pants, so I think they are going to be donated. (That will really confuse the CIA!)

Darn. Why are pants so difficult!

Tarzy, great outfit concept. Love the scarf. While I agree that these pants pull at the crotch--if you did wear this out today, don't fret. The rest of the outfit is so pulled together that I'm sure your client didn't look at your crotch once! ;)

I have luck with Gap pants, but I have almost no hips and a very flat tushie. Keep searching for the microcheck pants. Maybe it's the microchip pants that don't fit so well.

Hmmm. Not to be paranoid or anything but are you SURE "they" aren't tracking you?

Okay, never mind. I too agree that the pants are not the best - I've seen other pants look much better on you.

But don't give up on the idea of microchips/checks. The outfit itself would look great with the right pants!

I agree with the others. This seems to be a pretty common problem with these pants. Gap pants definitely don't seem to be cut for a curvier figure, at least in my experience (unless you specifically get a curvy fit).

Have you tried Esprit? They seem like they might have something similar.

Tarzy, you crack me up the the 'microchip' name.

I agree with Dani & Bella - the outfit idea is great, but the fit of the pants could be improved. I have bought them too and then returned them - they pulled on me too, in three different sizes - nothing I could do about it.

I like the idea of this outfit a lot, you look professional but creative, absolutely perfect. Unfortunately the pants seem to pull a bit, I think you will feel self-conscious in them and not in a good way.

Tarzy, a lot of people have had problems with the fit of these particular pants. Unfortunately, I'm not sure they are the best on you. They are pulling at the crotch and don't look like they are hanging quite right. I like the idea of the outfit though. Maybe you'll run across some other "microchip pants" that will work better for you

For some reason every time I think "micro-check" pants my brain turns it into "micro-chip" pants. I'm sure the government is NOT tracking my whereabouts with a chip in my pants.

However - I'm not as sure about the fit of these pants. I love the idea of them - the ubiquitous GAP microchecks that Angie blogged about. I need pants like this - a casual yet smart alternative to jeans. I love the B&W. But I'm not sure about the fit. Are they pulling too much? (At the crotch?) Do they look bad?

Please be honest. I have a meeting with a client today. I'm a freelance writer - so I need to look creative yet responsible. But I don't want my pants to look weird!
