It's all knit, and all the stripes you see that are not black are either white, silver, or gold. It felt a little jarring with the rest of the gorgeous pattern and colours (love the vertical stripes). The horizontal stripes on the band appear to be a slightly different colour (more beigey background) than the rest of the dress, and - perhaps I'm mistaken - the fabric of the band appears to be a different material than the rest of the dress too? Which is all the more amazing since it isn't a particularly short or revealing dress. I think it is very flattering, and while the band at the waist might highlight it, it doesn't make it look like that's all there is to your waist, if that makes sense. Hmm, I'm looking at the photo and I'm not sure it bothers me. I can see that a thinner waist detail would mask my short torso more effectively. A minimizer bra might help too. This dress is, er, bust enhancing.
