Some shine more and get noticed more. </p> <p>My personal experience is you'll get a lot less comments with sandals / pumps then with oxfords or sneakers... May be that oxfords are inspired by men's footwear and those are hardly shiny. May be sneakers are associated with sports hence the same.<br /> Shiny is associated with dressy I guess. So sandals/ pumps get better accepted. I hardly wear anything else in summer coz it's too hot here and a couple of regulars which are shiny rarely invite comment.. Golden t straps, black and pewter. I guess oxfords /sneakers have more area to shine. Yesterday my colleague (male) came up to me and said: "you always wear shiny shoes. One day gold shoes, the next day silver shoes." And it's not the first time metallic shoes have elicited commentary, especially the Touch sneakers. I honestly think of metallics as a neutral, especially in delicate summer shoes so I always get surprised at the commentary on how bold they are.</p> <p>Does this happen to you? </p>
