I'm pretty sure now that emoji (probably from an iOS device) caused this problem. Our new database is more picky and it refused to store a post that contained some characters it didn't understand.

I am now stripping out those characters, so worst case you'll lose your emoji. Longer term I'll add full emoji support. Turns out one of the other people living in my house is a huge emoji user. :-)

There is a bug I'm tracking that I think is related. Sometimes a new post is not created correctly. The thread thinks it exists, but it doesn't. I now have more logging enabled to see the errors that will hopefully help me to find the cause. That doesn't help us for the one that was sent 4 days ago, but please let me know if this happens again.

BTW, this is not related to the new design, but I think it is related to the server change a couple of weeks ago.

I've got a message that's doing this too. I can see that Claire has replied to a message of mine, but when I load the message I don't see her response. In my case we've had a few messages prior so I don't see the "no replies" that Ann does, but simply the last message that I sent before her reply. Her reply was sent 4 days ago, perhaps related to the upgrade but perhaps not. Also, even after I click the message it shows that I haven't read her response (which is true, but normally loading a page with unread responses causes the flag to go away).

Using Windows 8.1. Tried on both Firefox (37.0.1) and IE11 (11.0.9600.17690), same results.

That is strange. It might be related to the big server change. I upgraded a few of the underlying systems and there were a few other things I needed to fix. I'll take a look at the messaging feature in particular.

It was me! My messages to Ann don't show up in my message string either. Weird...

I sent a message to a forum member and had a note on the thread that she had replied (next to the little speech bubble below the post) but in the area where the next post would show was a blank saying "There are no replies yet." instead of a response. Thoughts?
