Even putting out a a jar of coins is basically donating it to someone who has the time or motivation to roll them!&nbsp; When students vacate apartments there's often no easy or cheap way to get rid of unwanted furniture, which was often cheap or free to begin with back in my day as a student (I see more brand new IKEA now but there's still a fair share of used items, bought last minute off this year's grads, in my kid's student apartment, which as it happens I'm currently occupying). And people are on tight turnarounds sometimes, maybe writing their last exam one day and off to start their summer job across the country the next.&nbsp;<br />Brand new clothes with packaging and tags is a great find though! I felt really cute, although in the future I will be picky about which types of workouts I'll wear the top to. In the university town where I went to school and lived for several years, there were AMAZING things left on the curb. Friends of mine got nearly new sofas, other furnishings, kitchen supplies, etc. I've never seen clothes, but it doesn't surprise me at all. What a great find!</p> <p>Oh, and my mum, who does not live in a college town, also puts things that would be difficult to get to a donation place (furniture, primarily) on her lawn with a "free" sign on them, and then we go out to lunch. As students move, they leave vast quantities of their belongings at the curb and if you are lucky enough to arrive before the garbage trucks, you can acquire some great finds.</p> <p>Yesterday my partner came home from a walk with three items of workout clothes he found at the curb. They were still in their original packaging with tags attached, Outdoor Voices brand. He wasn't sure what they were and thought they might be his size but alas, they are exactly my size. </p> <p>My mind boggles that someone left these on the curb-- surely they could have been returned? Last year, my partner came home with a jar of coins-- someone literally threw out money and he figures it was about $40.</p> <p>This is quite a bit more revealing than I typically wear to work out in. My workout class today starts in three hours, the question is, will I be brave enough to wear this or will I save it for my at-home workouts? </p>
