Thank you all for the suggestions...I am checking these all out online...they all seem to ship to Canada which is good.

Here's a few things I have ordered him:
Pic 2+3 are the same sweater, just front and back, I like the back.

ETA the first long sleeve T is by Y-3
The sweater is by Rag and Bone
I have no experience with either....I just liked the looks....I hope they are both quality cause they were a little pricey.

Not sure if Banana Republic is a possibility for you, but I think they have great casual clothes for the trim guy.

I have to say, all the natty men in my life have always shopped at Nordstrom. Good looking but not silly, which is an unfortunate tendency of very fashionable men's clothing. You can also do the "solid" look at Nordstrom quite well.

If your man really needs to look salt-of-the earth solid, Kohl's is a good store.

Thanks. boss does fit him well usually. He likes French connection, and I've never seen Ben Sherman so I'll check that out for sure!

Try Boss, French Connection and Ben Sherman too - although those cuts are quite slim.

I was just checking out the J Crew site actually! I have never bought anything there, and usually with more "designer" clothes he has to go for XL, but according to their size chart he would be well within L ....are they built that big?

The Nordstrom site looks good, I just had a quick look....I think he would like some stuff from there. He tends to like European looking clothing....but he's not built tall and slim...so most of it doesn't fit well. At the mall we check out Mexx and Club Monaco a lot, but he rarely buys stuff because it's all slim fit.

Hmm...I dated a man built like your husband for several years, but he was a very classic dresser - Brooks Brothers, Thomas Pink, Ralph Lauren, etc. He had a lot of tailoring done - pants taken in at the waist, for example. I wonder if that will be true for your husband?

I like Nau - it's spendy, but the pieces are amazing quality - http://www.nau.com. I love the blazers and the men's shirts especially. The cuts can be on the long and lean side.

I know, I'm a preppy, but I really do like J.Crew. And the cuts are pretty generous for men, I have found.

I was looking at the men's complete looks at Nordstrom's just now: http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/me.....in=leftnav

Anything in there strike you as stuff he would definitely wear or not wear?

Sorry if I'm being overenthusiastic - I really do love shopping for men's clothing, but I can calm down now!

His style is hard to say....he's from Montreal, so he has a bit of edgier vibe, but he's 33 now so he feels he can't look like he's trying to dress like he's 20. So I guess urban, grown up edgy.

Fit issues....yes...well he's got thick legs, he cannot wear any type of slim pants. His thighs are fairly muscular. And he's got a thick chest front to back, and he hates it when shirts shrink up to far and show his belly when he lifts his arms.

Does he have any fit issues? My son is very broad in the chest/shoulders but slim in the waist/hip so I bought him a custom made suit for his b-day last year. He loves it and looks very sharp in it.

What kind of clothes are you looking for? Suits, weekend wear, dressy casual?

Does anyone have any suggestions for fab men's clothes? Any piece at all? My DH needs and wants some new clothes for Christmas, and he would like some stuff that's better quality and more than just casual. I'm looking around and have a few ideas, but suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
