Kind of funny, although I get the points that his comparison isn't logical. I think he is trying to say women shouldn't be so judged.

But IK...sacred grotto of life?!!! I laughed so hard I almost choked on breakfast! Where did you come up with that?!

I can understand his point, even though men and women are shaped differently men don't have the same stigma attached to their garment size. You have to admit, we cringe a little if we have to reveal what size our blouse is.

I like to be fashionable but sometimes it's so difficult when the fashion industry excludes women of various sizes. It's so ugly the things that people like Karl Lagerfeld say about plus size women. I won't even buy chanel lipstick anymore.

And as much as I love watching Project Runway I dread the "real women" challenge because ultimately one or more of the designers starts complaining about having to design for someone who isn't a size 2.

Lululemon needs to take some accountability for their quality issues. Perhaps this fellow can try pantyhose and pumps and report on how those work for him!

My husband and I are the same height and weight, and wear the same size pants (although his legs and arms are longer than mine, and his shoulders are broader and neck is larger). He is most definitely on the small range for men, whereas I am in the medium/larger range for women. I am not sure I agree that men are consistently THAT much larger than women. Of course, many men are, but there are small men and large women, too. I'd like to see stats to show that the distribution of men actually skew a great deal larger than women.

An entertaining story, but I don't know how profound his point is. And anyway, I don't think a men's medium is generally the same as a 20. I usually wear a 20 in US sizes and if I bought a man's sweater or t-shirt it would definitely have to be an XL or even XXL.

Yes, this was a fun read but to me it is like comparing apples to oranges. There are still sizes for Big Men's clothing. I would rather be called Plus than a "Big Woman". Not a Lululemon wearer but now wondering if they have quality control issues.

Off the topic but related: Does anyone else find themselves wondering if all of these tissue-thin sweaters and "layering tops" are, in fact, a move to sell clothing that requires less fabric for the same price? Just wondering...why I have to wear TWO tops instead of one if I don't wish to reveal private areas of my body to the public.

Fun read but not much logic in comparing men's and women's sizing. My husband wears men's medium and he is considerably taller, bigger, and more muscular than me. I can see how a woman with his build would need size 20.

I am not sure I get the point, either. Or I disagree. Men are bigger than women, overall. Less so than in previous points on evolution, but still. They are especially larger in the upper body. Why compare fitting a man's shoulders with fitting a woman's thighs?

Also one of our biggest fit challenges where I am is stocking for both petite and plus size women... So it's not like everyone is being told they are bigger than they are. More often vanity sizing sizes out petites.

Yes, it was a lame answer on Lulu's part, but the author does not seem to follow Earth logic.

I had a guy tell me once that size 34 pants in mens size at BR were the same as their size 16 womens which were much cheaper and he bough those instead often ( in a herringbone weave). Now a 34 in men's sizing is fairly small and is a 16 in women's? Whoa.

Perhaps I'm having a sleep deprived moment but I don't really get the point. Men and women are built differently full stop and see through yoga pants are a pure quality control issue regardless of what ---- the CEO tries to peddle.

Interesting.

And I would like to tell the Lululemon guy that the sheerness I experienced in my particular running pants (which I returned) was when I bent over, sharing my sacred grotto of life, not to mention my mom-butt, with the entire gym. It had nothing to do with thighs.
